    Sir may i know, why sensitivity of cary foster bridge in maximum when we take resitance P and Q equal.....

      Sensitivity depends upon the voltage drop per unit length of the bridge wire. More length to drop 1 volt more the sensitivity. Acc to balanced wheat stone bridge expression use any combination of diff P n Q but you will get lesser value of sensitivity whereas this value is the max when P n Q are equal.

      The formula will become a little bit complicated nothing else but also a high variation may shift your stable point out of range.

    But when I was going to do the experiment... Some time galvanometer gives the different values at same values of l1... So what should I do... I change the galvanometer but still gives the different values

      Clean the ends pf connecting wires. Sometimes some loose wire may cause such an issue

    I'm my college, there are no separate terminal for battery connection instead I plug both the connections of P resistance with battery positive then other end of the battery is connected via key to the other jointly with Q resistance

    For calculating the value of resistance per unit lenght of bridge wire, the value of resistance of P and Q should be same? Or they may be different?
    Pls reply....

      It is not mandatory but the sensitivity of the apparatus is the maximum in this condition and the calculation also becomes easy. that is why we choose equal resistances.

      It means there is no resistance. Rest I have explained the reason in this video or its viva voce video . The formula for specific resistance is drived with this condition only

      It depends upon mny factors the thickness or the purity of the wire. The system i used had 0.02 ohm pr cm of resistance

      They are just to balance the setup. As their value increases the overall potential drop in the bridge wire decreases and the resolution of your setup increases.... Check its viva questions there in a flow the concept has been explained which is easy to digest...

      Its resistance is comparatively zero. Constantn wire carries some resistance.

      Just you will get oscillating galvanometer at unbalanced points... So DC is preferred coz we dont wanna make life more difficult...

      That is only required if you wanna calculate its resistivity. but as long as you want its resistance per unit length, you don't need to calculate its radius.
