  • In 2007 Nate Vince was stuck in suburbs, seeking adventure in a flat city. The industrialized urban environment of Detroit (the concrete jungle) was just the place. Above I-75 on a overgrown overpass there were discarded concrete sewer pieces. Unique elbow shapes and erosion had created Detroit’s greatest boulder field. Broken glass and red brick landings were the norm, but the city was starting to re-forest and this field had tall grass, apple trees and pheasants. An adventure was found in the most unlikely of places; above one of the countries major freeways.
(2023 the field has been cleared and is being used as storage for local business.)
