Thank you so much for sharing this pattern. I have made 2 in the last week. I love them. I had to add a couple of inches here and there. I also made the pocket a long one with 3 sections and added an upper pocket as well, but it’s all based on your pattern pieces. I want to make at least one more to be sure I have enough to get through the week. I made mine with one layer of fabric and hemmed all the way around.
Place your pattern a few inches in from the folded edge. Be sure to purchase a yard and a half of fabric so you have enough for the arm bands/ straps. The pattern will explain this.
I have a Bernina also...is it okay to sew over pins?? Also, you can go to an Ace Hardware and buy large nuts(like that fit on bolts)...like really large ones and cover them with duct tape and use them for fabric weights.
I Luv you video. I saw a site that cuts the fabric all in one piece then just so the only thing to sew are the shoulder ends. How do you think that will effect the way the apron would lay?
Andrea, I LOVED your tutorial. Would you be able to size it for a child and provide the pattern to download? I have been looking for a long time to find the right apron to make my granddaughter.
I found how much fabric, but my pattern doesn’t fit on 45 wide fabric. There is about 3 inches around the top area that hangs over the edge of the fabric. Can I fold the fabric the other way or will that cause problems with the straight of grain?
I want to make this patter---so are there only 2 pieces when all taped together??? And, are you actually cutting 4 pieces of the main pattern and 2 or 4 pockets?
Thank you for your interest in making the Mobius Apron. You can find the instructions and pattern here on our Nex-Tech website: The pattern is printed on letter size paper, then you tape it together. Once it is taped together, you only have 2 patterns to cut out. The body of the apron and the pocket. You will find that the pattern is one piece and you place it on the fold. If you need to make it larger, you might have to cut two pieces and sew them together in the middle. I modified the pocket pattern to fit my needs, but the one that comes with it works well. Thanks for watching. Andrea
This is an honest inquiry: Is this apron suitable for a male? I have always liked this apron since I lived in Japan. Can a male wear this apron. I have the linen fabric (an IKEA linen tablecloth). And I’m a pretty good sewer. As a matter of fact, I love to sew. So can a male wear this apron is is it just for females?
Of course it is for males too. You just want to take a look at the measurements and adjust them for your body. The width should be no problem if you are not very big, but the length might need some adjusting. The Ikea cloth will be big enough for it. Just remember to wash and dry/iron it first as it might shrink for up to 10%. Have fun making it your own
Why not? You're not likely to wear it in public, so it's really up to you. There's little to no fitting, so that shouldn't be a problem; though depends on your size, I suppose. (Make a paper 'pattern' and try it on.)
Nice pattern, but understandably it seems to be in a PDF layout for US letter, not A4. Would it be possible to get a pattern for this for International paper sizes?
We're glad you love it! You can find the pattern at nex-tech.com/simpleasthat (scroll to the very bottom to find this episode and the clickable link below it will be the .pdf you're looking for).
Very nice tutorial! I was wondering about using a heavy weight linen and just making it a single layer of fabric. Would you just turn the seam allowance under and hem? Do you recommend increasing the seam allowance? Thank you!
Andrea Keesee If your pattern fits you and I guessing I would need one wider. How would I do that? Widen it under the armholes? It might be able to take an inch or two in the center front. Do you have measurements to help us decide the additional inches and the most moderate ways to adjust the pattern?
Grew-up calling this a crossover or Japanese apron make mine from duck or medium canvas. Wear like iron and always have one on or on-hand for house or yard work.

This was a nice tutorial; however, the frequent, LONG ads for businesses in Hayes, KS have made me vow NEVER TO TRAVEL ANYWHERE NEAR HAYES (not that I would go to KS in any case). The more unfortunate thing is that they have made decide never to watch another of your videos.

Oh mg you are so great on teaching me how to make this apron,I'd try and fail.thank you.stay save.

I would you measure and adjust this to a plus size? Love it and thank you for sharing.

I love this apron. My grandma had one
Mine too. Her's was slightly different. But same concept.
Vey well explained! Thank you. Love the top you are wearing. Would love to learn how to make the pattern 🤗
Going to try this! I really was looking forward to seeing the lace in the end, but your counter was in the way!!
Brilliant - thank you so much for a great tutorial and including the pattern.
Great apron! You make it look so simple and I've been wanting to make one. I can't find the pattern, can you help me ?
I thought it was just me. I can not seem to find the pattern as well
Thank you. Very clear instructions! 👍🏻 love aprons 🙂
There are steps that new sewers will need more steps instead of jumping them. They need to be dejen! Thanks!
Great tutorial and you made it look fairly easy to make. Many thanks.

Or use tuna cans or cat food tins (full of course) as my mom and I did back in the day!
Love this! Why can’t I find the pattern? Please help
Will this fit a size 2X? If not, how do I enlarge/alter the pattern to fit larger please?
Thank you for the great tutorial. I have been wanting to make this apron like forever!

That pocket looks really low, is it comfortable when you wear it?
The link provided no longer exists and where can I download the pattern?
Andrea, I LOVED your tutorial. Would you be able to size it for a child and provide the pattern to download? I have been looking for a long time to find the right apron to make my granddaughter.
Yes, I think I would. What size of clothing does she wear. That will help me know where to start.
Farm house on Boone has a pattern close to this in a children's size.
I found how much fabric, but my pattern doesn’t fit on 45 wide fabric. There is about 3 inches around the top area that hangs over the edge of the fabric. Can I fold the fabric the other way or will that cause problems with the straight of grain?

It says page not found on the pattern. Does anyone know where I can get it? Thanks
Thank you for this video and for sharing the pattern.
Great tutorial and pattern. Gift making time! Thank you
Were you actually able to get pattern?
Is there a measurement on the page I can reference to to know I print the patter correctly?

The link to the pattern is no good now. Could you please reenter it?
Page not available. Wasn’t able to get or print PDF😢
You are so very lovely thank you so much for your help !
How much fabric does this take. You say you will give instructions. Are those in the video and did I miss the part about how much fabric is needed?
When you order the pattern it says in the print out 11/2 yards
Love this! Thank you!!

Thanks for watching and I'll update when I have a chance to convert it.
My suggestion would be to do one that's "poster" as well, and then I can use the various option's in Adobe Reader.
Hi, I can't get into the link. Can you send it to me via youtube comments? Thanks, Galit

You sounded like you didn’t where this apron design came from. This came from Japan!
Very nice tutorial! I was wondering about using a heavy weight linen and just making it a single layer of fabric. Would you just turn the seam allowance under and hem? Do you recommend increasing the seam allowance? Thank you!
YES, Absoutely. If you surged the edge you could just turn it under and stitch it. Or, if you don't, I suggest a nice small 1/4 inch hem.
Purple glue stick is awesome, also to put this pdf together!
This video was made six years ago. Pattern nowhere to be found. If pattern not available, video should be taken down.
Would you use linen fabric for this?
Какая красота!!!Хочу!
Would this fit us chunky people??
This is a great pattern and a lovely tutorial. Thank you. Could you tell me what size this fits?
It is a generous fit. I wear an 8-10 and I have plenty of room. I would say it goes up to a size 14. After that It might be uncomfortable.
