    Love video! Thank you.
    At 1:55 the LT actually does have AES/EBU digital xlr output. I think some high end mixers and computer audio interfaces have AES/EBU, but definitely not that useful. Most people will have no problem using the usb in the LT, but I wish to get the floor soon. I’m upgrading from the HX.

    Thank you for the comparison. I have the HX Effects together with a tube amp. I was considering the Helix LT and didn't actually notice it didn't have the scribble strips compared to the Helix Floor and I love that with my HX Effects.

    Nice comparison. I bought the HX Stomp last year. Then very quickly traded it in for a Stomp XL.... And now another few months later, I've decided I want the LT. Doesn't sound like I need those extra free features from the Floor. Especially for an extra £400.

    This is an EXCELLENT review comparison. Thank you tons. I personally just can’t get away from how I feel I would use those scribble scripts and things would just be less nerve-racking and easier for me. I came here wanting to buy the LT but I think for the money I’m going the other way! Thank you!

    scribble strips are also a source of light! I've had a few times where the stage went completely dark, the scribbles saved me.

    I recently purchased the Helix LT, If one doesn't care about or need the extra inputs or the headphone volume knob, then why pay more for something you will never use? Although the volume pedal is a bit chimsey on the LT compared to the Floor model, unless you are going to jump on it like an animal, it is fine. Everything else seems to be the same as the floor unit.

      The LT can do the same as the Floor it just has less I/Os and not as fancy looking. It's the best bang for your $$ though. Middle of the road. Not too cheap and limited and like a HX Stomp or PodGo and not all out mega nax high end like the Floor.

  • @3xcho

    A real quick simple way is, if you make your money by Playing live shows. I would strongly recommend getting the floor. Also as stated in the video if you incorporate a lot of your own pedals The floor version is perfect. However if you’re like me and you spend most of your time in front of a computer recording at home, well more than I would ever play live. The LT is perfect. In addition I took the extra money and purchased a VST, which is a game changer. At home I can run basically as many helixes as I want or as my computer and handle, on the same source signal

      I've been the computer musician for most of my 'creative life', but with the two bands I play in, we're now starting to look at doing our first shows in the city.
      I'm looking at getting the LT mostly with the perspective you mentioned. I'm curious why you said you'd 'strongly' recommend the big helix over the lt for (semi/pro) live musicians? I'm not too familiar with gigging, is it mostly compatibility and features (in- and outputs) thatll make it easier for front of house technicians?

    • @joeycobra
      @joeycobra  Год назад +3

      @wavewithus4081 Yo man! Honestly, I’ve done a lot of live gigging in multiple different genres and I’ve only ever needed to use a couple outputs on the Floor model. The main L/R XLR outputs, the 1/4 mono output for an external monitor for stage noise, and then the L/R send to a recording device for recording my live signal for social media purposes. I like to have a recorded signal just in case I wanted to layer it over some recorded video footage of the show to post.
      The LT is perfect if you’re just starting out with playing live music. It’s lighter and slightly more compact.

    Hey man, I also play at a church. I use a lot of expression pedal. Would the LT be ok to use since it’s supposedly not as heavy duty as the floor model.
    Also are the scribble strips overrated?

    • @seanentrikin9263
      @seanentrikin9263 2 года назад +2

      The scribble strips are a MUST for me. It's the main reason I went with the Floor over the LT. I don't regret it at all. The ability to see what each button is and to customize it is worth the extra money for me. The sturdier and better built pedal is certainly worth the extra money as well. But that's a personal opinion of course.

    • @joeycobra
      @joeycobra  2 года назад +2

      Hey man, if you’re looking for a “set it and forget it” type of setup with the foot switches, I’d go with LT if you’re trying to save some money. The LT is fine if you’re good at somewhat memorizing what each footswitch does in your signal chain. The scribble strips really solve that problem.
      The expression pedal was one of the biggest differences for me between the Floor and the LT. If you’re planning on using a ton of expression movements in your playing, I’d go with the Floor which has the more durable expression pedal.

    • @flyguyty33
      @flyguyty33 2 года назад

      @@joeycobra awesome. Yea I don’t think I’d need scribble strips since you can still color coat the switches. I would always have them in a certain order so I think the memorization would be fine.
      Thank you for your help!

    • @flyguyty33
      @flyguyty33 2 года назад

      @@seanentrikin9263 yea the scribble strips wouldn’t be much help (I don’t think), but the sturdier expression pedal may be the make or break for me.

  • @sjsphotog

    LT = best bang 4 for your buck with hardly any compromises. If youre a touring pro and have extra cash laying around. then yeah get the full Floor. For non pros and hobbyists who don't need a dedicated mic input then the LT is all you'll ever need. Use that 500 bucks for your next guutar / pedal or FOOD/gas ;)
