    This song, "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran, and "Regret" by New Order gave me a little hope that the 80s music wasn't dead yet in 1993...

      You're right! A very interesting comment and thought actually because from the 80s, it's the new wave and pop/rock bands of the 80s who had the biggest challenge and odds against them when it came to moving into the 90s. Other new wave or new wave-pop/rock artists that successfully coasted into the 90s were Depeche Mode, Go West, Roxette, INXS, The Pretenders to name a few.

      Yes, this, Regret and Ordinary World are one of my favorites. A-ha also released 2 very good albums in the early 90s.

    I was a out 13 when this song and video came out. I was probably the only teenage black girl in America rocking this song at that time. This whole album was fire! And thank you for Gail Ann Dorsey rocking that bass!

      I picked this up a few years later after it came out on vinyl in France and still have it in my vinyl library. I forgot I had it until my 14 year old niece pulled it out and played it. It still sounds just as good as it did when it came out.

      @@tendraftsdeep I remember that summer. It was hotter than hell around here in the ATL area that year. It seems like those summers during the 80s and early 90s were all much hotter than they are now. A heat advisory was the norm back then.

    That's one of their best songs I love the beat to this the lyrics are great. The snare drum fills are good I don't know if they are produced by a drum machine or actual drums.

    This would always be playing on the radio when i was waking up for work at 18. To this day it takes me back there each and everytime i hear it which is often because i bathe myself in 80's music all day everyday😊 and obviously some 90's too.

    Helped me get through those cold , lonely, stressful days in college. Had no money, only hopes , and dreams and my Sony Walkman blasting Elemental as I walked to class along Riverside Drive. Thanks Roland for your talent.

    I remember this song. 1993 the year I graduated high school. That is what about this era. Many 80's bands still had hits in the early 90's.

    I remember the 1st time I heard this in college back in 93. I was away from home for the 1st time as a young adult. Seem like an appropriate coming of age song for me at my life. Still a great song today.

    When you think back to the year that was 1993......this song consistently must be playing in your head. Just like it did back then as well. One of TFF's finer tunes for sure. 🙂

    I was in 12th grade when this came out, or at least when I first heard it.
    Graduation was a month away and for whatever, this was one of the songs that really resonated with me then.
    It still does.

    We only seem to hear Songs from the Big Chair these days. Anything they did, not from the 80s, unfairly gets ignored. I used to hear this as a kid when it came out.

      Devin Svennson I’m 18 and I love all of their songs, newer or old. Roland was so talented with lyrics and I loved Curt’s bass. This is one of my favorite songs, sad Curt left though. TFF have helped me through a lot and have earned the title of my favorite band of all time

    This is actually one of my favorite T.F.F songs. Takes me back to 93 and being a kid but just love the lyrics. Just shows how we get caught up in goals and ego and sometimes just need to pause and restart.

    Just took a two month leave from teaching. My anxiety was bad. This tracked was played hundreds of times. It always made me feel better.

      @@planetdog1641 yes. Being a teacher a little is stressful at times. It also had to do with have the proper coping mechanisms to deal with said anxiety
