I also would have gotten that big vintage doll. It was probably a Horseman doll. I have one that size that I bought at an estate sale. Bought it because I had one as a child.

That round gold thing is a dispenser for a roll of stamps. My grandma had one just like it.

The circle brass thing was a stamp dispenser. You put a roll of stamps inside and pull them out one at a time.
