    for the knobs, I think putting on painters tape before drilling will reduce any damage and chipping from happening :)

    How do you to keep the handle knob stay in place? It turns when I screw it. Can never get it tight.

    • @ikeaeverything
      @ikeaeverything  2 года назад

      Hello Jamie, i hold it on one side and use a screw gun to tight it up. Hope that helps 😊

    • @jamie5423
      @jamie5423 2 года назад

      @@ikeaeverything I did the same. So far success rate is 50%. I have to push really hard and two of the knobs(nickel part) are turning with the screw, the square shape didn’t stay as designed. I used the super glue to tight the white part with the nickel part, not sure if it will stand the force. Of course it causes a minor cosmetic issue. I am a bit disappointed with this one as ikea has been selling it like forever. This kind of issue shouldn’t be happening.

    • @ikeaeverything

      I see! Strange indeed. Maybe a set of faulty knobs? Mine went fine (I’ve put 4 of them). Sorry to hear that it didn’t work as planned

    Do you think this IKEA KNOXHULT can be a good base for making a Kitchen Island? Do you know if it is possible to buy other front doors from IKEA to use on this?

    • @ikeaeverything
      @ikeaeverything  2 года назад

      Hello there,
      Due to the fact that there is a (flimsy) back I don’t think it’d work as an island tbh. I used to have an island from ikea but it was about double the price.

    I checked out the KNOXHULT line at my local IKEA and I was immediately disappointed in the quality. The in store display kitchen did not seem like a "real" kitchen. It seemed like a terrible quality It looked bad. Right away you could see it looked terrible compared to their other cabinet product lines.

    • @ikeaeverything
      @ikeaeverything  Год назад +3

      Yup, the price tag goes along with the looks… you can also get 40k kitchens from them and boy do they look better but again, depends on the budget - you get what you pay for. Cheers

      All of their stuff is particle board, how much of a difference could there be?

    • @juztnlast953
      @juztnlast953 Год назад

      @@deehines5750 Yes It is all particle board, but the laminate foil was beyond cheap compared to the other IKEA cabinet lines that had more durable finishes. I think if anyone were to purchase this they would be having to spend additional money to replace it after two to four years.

    • @deehines5750
      @deehines5750 Год назад

      @@juztnlast953 Thanks for the info. Do you think there would be an issue if it were painted first?

    • @juztnlast953
      @juztnlast953 Год назад

      @@deehines5750 I suppose if someone were very good at painting over laminate. However I noticed the interior drawers that also are made of particle board were very very "gritty" and not smooth because the laminate finish for the drawers were even worse than the cabinets themselves. I do not know if someone could smooth the interior drawer parts before painting. I would highly recommend you examine Knoxhult in person. Perhaps for a temporary kitchen that you plan to do a proper remodel of this set up will do. But do not use these for an office kitchen or if you are a landlord looking to rent because they will be damaged in no time. I would go with IKEA's Metod system instead. Metod is newer and cheaper than Sektion (IKEA's most expensive base cabinet), but better quality than Knoxhult. Please go to your IKEA to really see everything in person. Everyone's expectations are different.
