@@HarkyOfficialI don't think he was dumb enough to believe that he had blanket legal immunity since he went through a whole legal process of getting out of an effective life sentence for the PCP case by sitting down for the proffer. It'd have been explained to him very seriously since he was being gifted a get out of jail forever card, and he would've been sat down to be told that any lies, speaking on what he tells them outside of the sessions, or leaving key details out would've voided the whole deal.
It's called Queen for a Day for a reason; you're told all these rules before you sit down and go on the record with the police for that figurative day to admit your involvement in crimes so they can close cases as part of a deal.
Whether he really thought he was dying of cancer, if he was under the impression that Vegas PD and the Clark County DA's office weren't interested in bothering with going after him so many years later, or if he thought Kading's publicly leaking the proffer tapes gave him room to speak on what he told them, I don't know, but he should've sued Kading for some bread than find himself in his current situation.
Keefe is in a LA restaurant talking to the LAPD about a proffer immunity deal for a killing outside their jurisdiction now see i'm no genius but we got a problem, you cant write a ticket in Vegas loud music but you can give immunity for murder

I'm sure he would have heard things from the streets and key people since he's an LA dude who was around at the time and knew folks. Orlando and them weren't exactly shy about taking credit for hitting Pac once they got back to LA from Vegas, and the police were getting a bunch of anonymous tips from folks who were telling them that these dudes were openly bragging about the murder and probably did it. The police had them on their radar even before Biggie got hit. So it's not unreasonable to surmise that Eiht would hear or know things more than most people.

Keefe D likely spoke about it because he needed money, had a terminal cancer diagnosis, and didn't expect to be around this long. He probably felt like he had nothing to lose. But the cancer went into remission after treatment. And after he saw that people were willing to pay for the story and there were no immediate legal repercussions he probably felt that as long as he didn't explicitly confess to pulling the trigger himself he would be safe.

You think anybody was gonna murder Big Dre, or Keefe D, even Orlando for killing 2pac? Orlando got murdered for something else way before he was bragging about killing 2pac, Big Dre died over obesity and Keefe D is 60 years old with cancer, the streets didn't do no justice for pac because of the respect they had in the streets. Them three guys were absolutely respected AND protected deep within the crip set.

Also, on th night of the basketball game few days before biggie was shot when DPG and memebrs of the southside were there (Gene refers to this too), along with Mase and Stevie J, Snoop greeted Big Dre that day, and that was in March 97.
