It's such a shame that poorer people can't seem to strive to buy your own home anymore, by working , like many of us did decades ago, instead of expecting to be housed by the govt, but I guess if you keep encouraging more, and more immigration into the UK constantly increasing the population to unfordable levels,the state has to help and provide affordable housing

These blocks are ugly eyesores which need knocking down. In fact they should have never been built in the first place. This is what happens when you elect socialists. You end up with hundreds and thousands of places like Grenfell and Broadwater Farm.
Absolute nonsense. It has ended up like that because of the council which is lead by conservatives (and actually has a lot of money in reserves it is unwilling to spend on poor people). There hasn’t been a socialist government since they were built!
