Great review. An update after 2 or 3 more weeks of hard skating would be great and should be part of any thorough skate shoe review. Hows the boardfeel compared to vans ultrakush?
@@Carl-ve1nr an update is definitely coming! I’m still skating them and they are holding up great! It’s weird because they have amazing boardfeel but a lot of protection at the same time. The insoles are much better than vans in my opinion and they have an extra layer of foam on top of the lasting board as well
@@eastcoastcurbkiller The extra foam on top of the lasting board are little details that makes a huge difference. Hopefully pairs can be accessible here in Manila.
Yo dude. Great review. I'm also in Atlanta. That slappy block looks fantastic. Would you mind sharing where it's at haha. I've been trying to find a solid place to practice slappys
@@ryanmcfadin09 1599 Memorial Dr SE. But they are doing construction back there so the ground is crazy dirty. It needs to either be swept or blown off probably before it could be skated again. There’s another curb spot not far that’s a wide open foundation that has several curbs that I put there. 601 E College Ave, Decatur
I'm curious about the fit. My foot's not super wide but shoes like the last resort fit pretty tight how do these compare? I've already ordered the chapter in the low so it doesn't really matter at this point but I'm curious.
@@jamesryan4325 Gilbert Crockett Vans are definitely one of the best Vans models. My only personal problem with other Vans skate shoes though, is they get soggy and flimsy right after, even with the popcush insole in there. These Warsaw joints however, Jamie has been very thoughtful to not only provide a meatier insole, but an extra foam padding on top of the lasting board which helps a ton with the shoe's structure and firmness. It gives us more impact protection and better support. These are things I learned also from basketball shoes, being a baller as well.
I like a really well-worn shoe, like almost falling off my feet. I like a stiff/substantial shoe for how they skate when they wear away. I don’t really necessarily even want a shoe to skate well brand new bc it makes me feel like they won’t last
Try white reebok club c85 with super glue on the toe area. Shredded around 15 white pairs since 2013. Also had black ones and suede versions. Gum soles on suede reeboks skate better but white leather ones work like heaven
The etnies screw mid vulcs were nice, didn’t bag out. They’re like etnies take on a half cab but not as stiff/substantial, but in a good way. They have an etnies x Santa Cruz model that look kinda crazy but I’d rock them 😭

@@eastcoastcurbkiller yup and I need all the mm of paddling these days it’s not just cardboard under the insoles which are noticeably thicker than most for that price these days it has at least 2 more mm of padding under the insoles so much and. Nothing but good things about the shoes !
same price as a "Nike Sb Dunk" $109 retail is Insane Business model. Your gonna have to much comp at that price. Etnies Joslin In by far one of the best shoes in Skateboarding all around. Or the NB line up all of them are good. This shoe looks like direct copy of the Emerica Winkowski. Just honesty. Not hate. The new balance Villani looks like a better purchase the "sole" and the price.
@@TRAVIESO_NA these are the polar opposite of any emerica. The quality of materials are for sure better than anything soltech is putting out. And the villanis tend to mush out and lose form whereas these do not. Also the materials are significantly better on these than any of the other mentioned shoes. Build quality is top notch and is leading to great durability and skatability.

I love a good insole, I’ll keep them and put them in the next pair. I usually double insoles in skate shoes unless they’re thick like pop cush

What is the impact protection like? I just bought a pair of Gilbert Crockett's, and the pop-cush insoles are good, but these look inviting!

Cool shoe and thanks for posting a review. I'm interested in one as well, do you think these are up to par with Common Projects sneaker quality?
