He was great to watch, back in the day. Right up there with Ronnie for his cue action. Shame where he ended up, could have been one of the greats.

I don't think he had a chance of being one of the greats, he just wasn't good enough really and had a long time to prove otherwise, hence he felt the need to fix matches to make some money. I believe that being caught for match fixing is the only way that he could cement his place in history. That said, he is great to watch and I look forward to his return in 6 years.

@@samfcch7898 his natural cue action and timing of the ball would put him up there with the greats in my opinion, he isn't mechanical like most players on the tour... he just glided through the ball so smooth... as for tournament wins i would agree (he would of never been considered a great in that aspect)... he had a lot of years left to gain more titles though, so i guess we will never really know how many titles he could of won!.. i could of never personally seen him competing with the likes of trump or robbo on ranking titles though! 5 ranking titles is still a lot in todays game however!

He never went into the pack of reds early enough which was one of his biggest flaws.

I wonder if Stephen will come back on the circuit once his ban-time is over. Truly one of the best ever and even at age fifty I'm sure he would rank in the top three or four in the world. What year will he be eligible to rejoin?

Lee's best ranking was 5. Mostly he was below that!
