    As a dog person I found this very helpful and will buy all blue and yellow toys from now on. Thank you for the info!I'll keep my vision, although I wear glasses. The one portion of their vision that would be nice is increased night vision. I like walking in the woods, and when camping, seeing what's near by would be helpful at times.

    Dog toys are red because humans can see red in green grass. If your dog doesn't get the toy in the yard, you can! It gives you an advantage so you can better fool your little dog friend.

    It's interesting that dogs only have cones sensitive to blue and yellow. An evolutionary trait of hunting brown prey? O.O It's kind of strange that they can't detect red though considering the colour of flesh or was it some how lost? I'm getting inspired to compare the types of cones wolves and dogs have.
    Does the wideness of vision affect the depth perception of dogs though like in the case of a more 'flat' vision for rabbits than that of humans?
    It's a really thought-invoking video. :D

    +Javier56286 Not true at all. There are two ways color is made, additive color mixing and subtractive color mixing.
    When you mix colored lights you can make combination that would not work like if you mix paints. Ever been to a play?
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_mixing
    I don't think you understand white light all that well and it can be hard to wrap ones mind around it. That said, you should have google searched this, you would get the same answer I just gave you.

      +Think Fact im like 498/500 on my eye test

    • @Theraot
      @Theraot 8 лет назад +1

      +Think Fact so you take the number of color to which there are receptors (3 in humans and 2 in dogs) and you power 100 to that number, giving you 1000000 for human and 10000 for dog. So you are saying that any eye can only percieve 100 shades of one color.
      Garbage! Garbage, I say!

      God Romans 9:20-24
      20 But who are you, a mere man, to talk back to God? Will what is formed say to the one who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?” 21 Or has the potter no right over the clay, to make from the same lump one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor? 22 And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction? 23 And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory- 24 on us, the ones He also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

    • @thinkfact
      @thinkfact  8 лет назад +15

      Kirssi Heisinger
      He sees the light, but not the red color. To him it would look more like a moving white dot. Be careful, something being red does not make it invisible, it just means their brain will fill it in with a color it can understand.
      Have a good one!

    An interesting question. There seems to be distinct advantages to both human and dog eye site . So rather than choosing one over the other it would be great if we could somehow combine the best of both eye sites.

    A note: It's not "different shades of colors", they have different hues. Shade is adding black to a color.
