20 Acrylic Pours in 10 minutes

  • A compilation of just the fast part of my Acrylic Pouring Videos from the past. Interesting to see how the paint spreads out over time. In Acrylic Pouring, it is important to understand and account for this behavior. The more paint on the canvas, the more it will spread out over time. To counter-act this, intentionally pour off extra paint until it slows down to a crawl.
    Most of these clips are sped up 4x ~10x real time.

    Literally 99% of these comments are complaining about 'wasted paint'
    We got the idea after the first ten, we don't need any more.

    Hated to see all the wasted paint. . I was thinking ohhh I could do so much with that. My favourite was the 4 tiles, I think. Sensory overload trying to take them all in. I too would have liked to see them dry. Thanks heaps for sharing. Cheers Marie ‘downunder ‘

      @@jojowallace5098 soooo what do you think the artist is doing with all the paint that ends up falling off the canvas? Cuz if they arent using it, it seems pretty wasteful.

    My friend does acrylic pouring, I asked her about the wasted paint and she told me she lets it dry and turns it into pendants she sells on Etsy. That’s such a good idea and they look cool and marbled. I think it’s the art teacher in me that sees wasted paint and gets angry since I know how my students could use it.

      the dried paints are called skins, I've made jewelry before but the painting part is so much more fun. Also not sure how to show the jewelry making in an interesting way.

      My art teacher always says that you shouldn't be afraid to use too much/waste paint. The best stuff comes out of wasting and not caring about your paint, and don't be afraid to get nasty :D

    • @pamh.5705
      @pamh.5705 5 лет назад +1

      Yes, that is an option that I plan to utilize too. I've been making necklaces handpainted with nail polish, I think this will work better!
      At 1st I thought these were being done all at once, I didn't realise it was a compilation of multiple sessions.
      Makes a big difference in the perspective on that.

    I love every one of those pours, you're truly gifted . To all the people whining and criticizing paint being wasted, no one is forcing you to do it his way. If it's fun it isn't a waste. Fun is amazing you all should try it sometime... personally I'd like to roll around in that bin and see if cells pop up anywhere 😁

    I agree with most everyone else, I hate to see all that paint wasted, some of the colors that were used in the cups, once poured it just ran off the sides so I didn’t see the point in using so much. Acrylic pouring isn’t one of my favorites, it just seems wasteful but it can make some pretty neat pictures. I liked the one at 3:21 before it was swiped also. Thanks for sharing the video though.

    Thanks for inspiring me to type some new things out and not to be to hard on myself! I loved the strainer one. So cool’ wish we could see your work finished. By the way why do you use so much paint? I know how expensive it is and for each one of your pours you wasted so much paint that you could of made 4 or 5 more pours from the paint that ended up in your bucket. It was kind of satisfying to watch it all spill over but it would of been cool to have a second canvas under the first one. There are acrylic pour calculators out there so you don’t have to flow the paint over and waste it. I did the math and you could of made on average 79 extra paintings 12x12 canvas size from the paint wasted in this one video. That’s a lot of money!

      A lot of people have freezer paper underneath that catches the "wasted paint". They let it dry and then peel the dried paint off. It makes what is called "paint skins". Then they use the skins to make jewelry and other things. That way nothing is actually wasted.

    More than a couple pieces I need in my life! You definitely have an innately beautiful talent and a keen eye for color combinations that heightens your work well above that of 'any ol' pourer'. I dont have IG however I am curious, do you use that platform to promote/sell your pieces or do you only do commissioned work? I'd love to see what you might have available for purchase. Thank you and much success in your life and talent my friend.
