    Hello!
    Would you like to hear about more of my art class projects???
    !Which art assignment would you like to try?
    Do you think copying a photo is helpful to learn?
    Please tell me your thoughts! :)

      I would totally try the zodiac assignment, soon. I will do both the eastern and the western zodiac.
      About the ather assignments, I think that the ability to draw what you see, be able to copy it, has two advantages- one, is to practice sizing and second, understanding and capturing color as they are in reality. Maybe I am wrong, idk. I think that the ability itself to copy from other pictures or real life is less and art as itself (in general). It is an impressive ability but as a technical ability and not as what I consider art on its own. More impressive to my opinion is to be able to express your imagination on the paper/digital.
      Keep us updated on the calendar project and the zodiac project please🙏🏻❤️ how long is the vacation between semesters in Japan/your school?

    Your drawn apple looks much better than the photo! I think that dividing to layers is a good method, I am always for a non destructive ways to do art, not only in digital but also on physical media.
    The glass with the water and the lemon looks amazing as well!
    I think that it is not a practice I can bring myself to do if not as part of a class mission. But I do understand the importance of that kind of practice.
    I will try to do the mission with the zodiac! That looks fun!
    Love your illustrations of them! The charcoal style coloring looks the best so far. I love the graduation in colors and the texture! A suggestion - What about adding kind of lines like... As if you put a base color in watercolors (the charcoal brush) and added color pencil above? (Sorry if my description is not clear). It may add more depth and may work well with your style, I think.
    Your art is very stylized and the harsh brushes of the digital media looks contradicting it. So I think that as your teacher suggested, to go with a more traditional/ physical media style of coloring will go well with your illustrations. (Of course, only my opinion).
    I love that all the characters you draw of the zodiac are cohesive and look harmonious in particular and in group!
    Good luck with the next semester! ❤

      Thank you for your conscientious and thoughtful comment! I really still struggle with the digital stuff and have made myself a bit of a personal challenge for this break - but they’re still coming out a bit stiff! I’ll try to consider your advice! I think you’re saying like - put color first and sketch / refinement after?

      I think doing astrological signs is cool AND there’s so many ways u could try to like make a finished product- card deck, poster, shirts…. I still want to explore my designs and try to figure out something to put them on. Thanks for watching!!!

    I got my first graphics tablet recently and although I'm still getting used to it its so nice to be able to instantly erase mistakes. Your drawing of the glass with the apple looks photorealistic. I think I would like the practice the cube textures.

    • @HannahMorenDraws
      @HannahMorenDraws  4 месяца назад +1

      The cube textures was fun! I didn’t include all of her examples, maybe I can find some online. But she had so many cool ones of like “cube sushi, cube meat, cube grass….”

    What a cool video! It is so cool you are going to art school in Japan! Are you fluent in the language? I’m looking forward to watching your other videos. I think the most interesting assignment for me was the cubes.

    • @HannahMorenDraws
      @HannahMorenDraws  3 месяца назад +1

      I agree! The cube assignment was the last one and it was the most fun. I am not quite fluent but I am "proficient." So I can get by and I passed a proficiency test that allowed me to apply!

      @GeorgiaBackyardExplorer 3 месяца назад +1

      @@HannahMorenDrawsI hear those Japanese language tests are hard. Proficient is pretty good especially for a language that is difficult to learn.

    I would like to hear more about your projects! :) How long did it take to do the Lemon in the glass? I don’t do realism, but I think that class would be a god way to get out of my comfort zone. Did you do most of the projects in class or did you take some home?

    • @HannahMorenDraws
      @HannahMorenDraws  4 месяца назад

      Thank you for watching! So what has been so nice is that we do most of the work in class. It’s just 3 hours of work time for 2-4 classes! But since I struggled so much with the astrological signs I did do some work at home. The lemon in the glass I think was 3 classes so 9 hours!
      I think the realism has been a good way to learn the tools to then apply to your own style :)
      Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
