How to connect accessory wires to pulse connector when the accessories have a hot and ground wire and the pulse connector has the extra blue wire? What do I connect to the blue wire?
Thank you for your question. If you go to the videos on my channel before, and following the posting of this video, I have a video on the Poul spark connectors, as well as wiring, a winch and lighted switches and other videos that I think you’ll find helpful. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.
You ask a good question and yes, I think there is a fuse at the fuse panel. It’s probably a 20 amp fuse. I believe but go there and check all those fuses. I think you’ll find one that needs to be replaced. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.
Hi Joe thank you for the video. I'm going to be putting a led front bumper light on and want it to be on with the switch, on the bus bar plug go i just leave out the red and slice in the blue and black?
Thank you for your question. First of all, I have a video that you might want to check out uninstalling a front bar LED light with a switch. It goes through the step-by-step. Thanks. Joe.
You have a great channel to explain product. On the pulse bar connector which I bought. The Red and Black I get the Blue wire ignition wire sorry but where do you connect that to? also when you have a switch say for a light bar, whip lights etc do you have a video explaining that process? I am not very good when it comes to running electrical items.
Thank you for your question and comment. First of all, I have a video on connecting a light bar so you should look at that and that will help you with connecting a light and the proper electrical connections. The blue wire from the Pulse Bar must be connected to a switched electrical source. One that is on when the ignition is turned on, but then turns off when the ignition is turned off. Usually you can find that wire coming either from the ignition, but do not connect it to the battery or else. It will be on all the time. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.
Hey man! Got a question for you. I bought a light bar and lights for the back of my Polaris ranger and there is an accessory pulse bar in the roof that I have them wired to. I have those nice connectors and have the red wire coming from my wire harness going to the blue wire on the connector. Is this the way to hook it up? Or should I be connecting it to the red wire on the plug? I can get the lights to run but keep blowing the 15 amp “plug” fuse. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Hey there, thanks for your question. Yes, that makes sense because the blue wire is for the switched application not the full draw of the accessory like a light bar or a winch or things like that. However, if you hook it up to the red wire without a switch it’ll be on all the time which is fine as long as you remember to turn it off. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.
Very good question. There are three wires that come out of the pulse bar the red positive which is on all the time, the black ground and the blue wire, which is ignition on only. When the ignition is on the blue wire is hot otherwise it is not. That’s what allows you to Have devices that when you turn off your vehicle, electricity stops. That would include winches, lights, etc. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.
@@JosephHunstad so once the ignition wire on the pulse bar is on. Does it activate some sort of inner switch on the pulse bar as to then allow the middle harness wire to draw power from the always on battery battery wire that’s connected to the pulse bar? This essentially allows for a small gauge ignition wire to connect to the bar.
There is no inner switch on the pulse bar the blue wire on the pulse bar simply gets activated when the ignition is turned on. Otherwise it's off.@@TheSRMproject
I have a 2018 Polaris XP 1000 and after the local Polaris dealer installed a heater last year I have now realized that the performance/standard/work and the 2 wheel/4 wheel/1 wheel switches aren’t working. It is stuck in 2 Wheel drive and I’m guessing standard performance. Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix it?
I’m sorry that’s happened to you. But since the dealer seem to have changed the situation, I would return it to the dealer and have them sorted out. Who knows what they did but it’s probably not that difficult for them to figure it out since they installed the heater. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.
@@JosephHunstad Joe, that was the first time I’ve ever asked a question in comments and I thank you for responding! I did subscribe and like. Hey Dr. Joe, quick questions. I purchased a new 6 place bus bar for my 2023 Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium. I got it installed w/o any problems. Works great. My question is what is the "round" plug that goes in the end of the bus bar for? Also the connector that is plugged in the bus bar from the factory, what does it power?
