I love the idea of a siesta, but I wouldn’t want to go back to work. 😂😂

Barry, it's the top hat shaped trees that get me, also great to use them for shade too

My builder in France did all his paperwork during lunch and getting supplies.
A renovation has just taken place in the villa next to me. It's been going for 7 months and is stunning. Ibiza old style. The guys are lovely and only take 30 mins for a lunch break in the garage. The same in Catalunya and Andalucia. I've never seen them go offsite. They work so hard. My friend in Madrid works right through lunch in a busy office. The siesta originally was for workers to get out of the mid day sun. The farmers especially who sat under trees. So today I had three hours work gone in the garden (an annual thing) asked José my lovely gardener about siestas ' I wish' he said. 😂. I think it's not taken as seriously now, in my opinion. However, I love it but then I'm retired 🎉

Where we live, all the shops and farmacias etc (except large supermarkets) shut in the middle of the day and re open around 5 or 6 until 9 or 10. You can’t do anything in the afternoon. It takes some getting used to. Even the estate agents and other businesses close in the afternoons. It must differ depending where you are in Spain. Even in Torrevieja, a large town, the town centre closes in the afternoon and shops don’t open until 5 or 6.

Me and the wife are on our way to playa Flamenca in the next few hours for the weekend. Hopefully we’ll see you doing one of your videos.

In Spain, people eat between 14 and 15 hours., so it is normal to see that from 14 to 16. there are few people, but usually it is because they are on their lunch break, and then they return to work, many foreigners think they are sleeping, but In reality it is more for the central meal of the day.
