Its not uncommon that kukis will be present on either side of the border, national boundaries often dont follow ethnic lines. Also it is a fact that a lot people have settled in manipur, after coup happened in burma. There is a recent report that says 700 people moved in to manipur from burma. Anyway when the time comes, identifying who are Indian kukis and who came from across will be a challenge.

See, the population of kuki chin groups in Churachandpur in 1980s was 80k, but, as per the 2011 census, it was 6 lakhs. All I want to say is, numbers don't lie.

Its not uncommon that kukis will be present on either side of the border, national boundaries often dont follow ethnic lines. Also it is a fact that a lot people have settled in manipur, after coup happened in burma. There is a recent report that says 700 people moved in to manipur from burma. Anyway when the time comes, identifying who are Indian kukis and who came from across will be a challenge.

How will the NRC be conducted precisely? Will it be overseen by Manipur's government or the BJP central government, both of which are subject to concerns about bias? The credibility of the process being untampered with is the question. As per the Mizoram govt report, there are 40,000 kuki Zo refugees in Mizoram alone. But, in Manipur, it will be 10 times that number if proper NRC is conducted. See, the population of kuki chin groups in Churachandpur in 1980s was 80k, but, as per the 2011 census, it was 6 lakhs. All I want to say is, numbers don't lie.

Illegal Myanmarese Immigrants mainly armed Chin-Kuki Militants are the main culprits . ITLF do not present all the tribals of Manipur but is confined only to the Kuki-Chin-Zo Group and the Mizo MP of Mizoram do not represent the tribals of Manipur. In the same breath, we will like to appreciate the humanitarian approach of the Mizoram Govt in helping the displaced Refugees coming into your state....Don't waste your energy in supporting a wrong cause

Home Minister is wrong. Manipur is filled with tribes who have strong sentiments towards their own tribe. Identity and survival play the most important role. They are also filled with huge amount of ego. Since ancient times, all of them are head hunters. They fought against each other as they look down upon each other. This was heated by some politician which led to the present turmoil.
How about Nagaland and Mizoram. I have never seen any news that reports such a turmoil and chaotic state. Assam and Mizoram had a fight about border, that was too caused by identity. Naga have their own Militants because of identity. Brus have their own Militants which is now very small in number because of identity. Identity relating to blood is deeper than religion.
