What amazing work on the windows - they look so beautiful! Well done and thanks for sharing - my childhood home had similar windows (non restored) so I always wondered how they were made and repaired.
I love that feeling, to understand how things were made 😁 always makes me curious. I was one of those kids that could take apart things to see how they were built 😆
Thanks for this video i learned a lot by watching you I also have to repair a glass door and I didn't know how to work with glass now I can get started.
I have failed more times than succeeded when cutting glass. I would say that a must is a good quality cutter tool (better to invest in this so you don't waste money on destroyed glass).
Very interesting to learn how to use linseed oil products; it seems to be very pleasant to use; I will try to find them in my region even if I'm afraid I remenber that I don't like the smell of it (hope it's just a false memory!). Thank you for sharing the beautiful womancraft you make!
@@old_school_moaboa It was used I think on furniture I restore and I hate the smell of the product when I clean them and I think (but not sure) that it was linseed oil... Maybe it wasn't?!
You are inspirational, Moaboa! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. I am curious what that powder was that you brushed across the windows prior to spraying them.
I really enjoy watching the restoration work you are doing. I am also obsessed with the song that plays in this episode and others. Could your provide artist and song name please? Greetings from eastern US.

In Sweden there are a lot of resource to be find if you want to restore your windows the traditional way. But to tackle the wood repairs I did a day long course at Scandinavian Windowcraft. I also took a three day long course a year ago to learn how to build a traditional bespoke kitchen. But in Sweden everybody learn some basic woodworking in school (and textile). And then I learnt some when I did some reno with my ex boyfriend and I gutted and renovated a small cottage with three rooms on my own. So step by step I've become more confident 😄
Great trick using the wide trowel as a guide when scraping the excess paint! So smart 🤓. It's all looking so 👍
Isn't it? It is so much easier 🙂
Such beautiful work! Well done. I have endless admiration for your courage, determination and attention to detail.

Thank you :-) I haven't even thought about the smell, I don't think it's very strong? Was this a long time ago?

It's chalk, the chalk makes i easier to remove sticky remnants of glazing putty that wants to adhere to the glass panes.
That was chaulk, to soak up any residue oil from the putty. Thank you Allison!

Where did you learn all your carpentry skills?

I like this shit, it looks simple, but the devil is in the details..
Экологичней было бы воспользоваться традиционной оконной замазкой из льняного масла и мела.
