    Another one would be: play the trooper class story with dark side decisions. It's hilarious. You get to be a complete jerk to everyone. You are rude and insubordinate to General Garza; you assassinate senators when they threaten to investigate your squad; you kill enemies instead of taking them prisoner; you steal weapons, etc. Plus it has some nice gems of dialog such as "swallow a grenade and do us all a favor" and "I'm not just a thug in a uniform - I'm a heavily armed thug in a uniform".

      It's the kind of thing I want to try, but I'd need someone holding a gun to my head for me to be mean to fictional characters.

      @@feyefall4855 I know this was 5months ago but my first time playing was was last month and I chose trooper for my first playthrough, I thought I would have a tough time with also being mean especially because I've never done it in any other game like this but as the leader of Havoc I instantly felt the power and started getting big and bad with anyone that would tell me no.

    I would also submit the Sith Warrior storyline as a lightsider. it is amazing how compelling a character a Sith Lord can be when they are simply not a dick. Also, the added tension of you and your apprentice being secretly not evil is awesome.

  • @Venom1846
    @Venom1846 7 лет назад +17

    I would argue that the Sith Inquisitor storyline is the best. You start from nothing and rise to the echelons of power. You really feel that sense of progression and the reward is satisfying.

  • @Grinddor
    @Grinddor 8 лет назад +69

    In my opinion the Sith Warrior story is the best, even when it comes to the choices, because it not only changes the story in some ways, but it also influences one companion so much, that you actually decide if she stays the good person that she is or if she turns into a blood-thirsty psychopath, making her so unique and a stand out companion. Plus Vette is probably the best companion in the game, especially when you romance her, outranking Kira by a lot. And the ending is just soooo satisfying, especially when you choose the dark side option. I felt kind of betrayed that the final choice of the Jiedi Knight regarding the last boss in the jedi Knight story line was completely irrelevant to the actual ending. In every other class story you actually get the choice to show mercy or to kill your target for good, leaving space for a lot of speculation. And the Sith Warrior story also makes sense for KOTFE because you were his favorite sith, you impressed him and he actually states this a couple of times in the original class story.
    PS: This does not mean that I didn't like your video, I enjoyed it quit a lot, I simply wanted to state my opinion on the matter. :)

    The Operation "Eternity Vault" is one of my favorites, despite it being so easy even on the hardest mode that you could run it blindfolded, but the whole lore about the Rakata is interesting, and as far as it's known, they were the dominating species thousands of years ago, the true Dark side Force users long before Jedi and Sith ever existed. The Shroud, as well as The Dread Seed (I think it was called) quest lines were a lot of fun, combined with datacron hunting, took you to some spectacular places you never been before. As for the class stories, Sith Warrior is one of the best also, it is the most central class in the game apart from Jedi Knight, though one way or another the stories are connected, each class telling the story from their perspective, combined painting the big picture. All stories are great though!

    Start with a Sith Inquisitor as your first character. Do a Jedi Consular next (and you can even make him a Sith, if you ran a Pureblood Sith for your Inq and thus unlocked the species for all classes), and link him in your Legacy tree to your Inq as child or sibling (people who have played the two should understand why). It really leads to a great opportunity for head-canon, complete with ancient lineages, hereditary special force powers, and an amazing justification for creating your own sub-faction dedicated to the Third Option between the Jedi and Sith religions.

    I played the Imperial Agent (Sniper) as my 1 character, though I wanted a Jedi Shadow Tank, and she is still the best of them all - Badassery beyond good and evil !
    She is a Chiss, uncompromisingly efficient at getting rid of Jedi and unruly Sith alike, can get 2 assassin droids as companions, the best Ship in the Empire, even in PVP she handles situations with elegancy and utmost proficiency.
    And all to bring order in the chaos of the Empire.

    • @ZakEmber
      @ZakEmber  5 лет назад +1

      My very first character was a Jedi Shadow tank. One of my fondest memories of the entire game and the time I played was in the first few days of launch, taking my green double-bladed saber and joining a PUG group for the World Boss on Coruscant. That character is still one of my favorites, despite the class story being dry as toast.
      The IA story is wonderful, as you know... and continues to be so even if you choose to be a light side softee. I'm really glad you had a fun time with it... that storyline (and the other original 1-50 stories) made the game what it is. I miss the old days of it, but I'm happy to steer players towards what was really good about the game!

    For some reason, I have a tendency to delete characters at random as well as make them in tandem with each other so that they are completely opposite each other in all ways. Weapons, armor, personality, everything. All opposites. I want to do a duel-wield bounty hunter and a assault cannon trooper, for instance.

    One of the most exhilarating pieces of content for me was when I decided to run 'The False Emperor' /solo/ (No companion, nothing) with my Sith Juggernaut. Her facing down Malgus one on one was an amazing experience, and one aspect of this game I will never forget.

      That is an AWESOME one to run solo! The debate will always rage whether it was a good move or not to make the flashpoints group-optional, but it did open up moments like this... being able to face down the last boss of massive story arc in one-on-one combat! Fantastic!

    In terms of experience, the jedi knight story provides the definitive star wars experience.
    You get lightsabers, an apprentice and fight sith.
    The sith storylines are good too, but are too narrow.
    You only get to see the in-fighting and power plays.
    But in terms of rpg storyline, agents get the best hands down.

    I can see why he put the JK story on top, as an homage to KOTOR, even though most feel Agent is the best. Another story one must playthrough is the Sith Warrior for this reason--in chapters II and III, most stories are dying...that's when the SW story takes off. I don't want to spoil anything for those who may not have yet played through it, but after Hoth everything changes for your Jugg/Marauder. Like the Agent, the Warrior is well worth multiple playthroughs

    I play the game and I absolutely love it! I don’t have the courage to do any PvP/group things since my skills aren’t that good and are better suited to the PVE side of things. I do hunt Datacrons. And for me, just my opinion, my fav storyline is the JC(Jedi Counselor), especially shadows. I have multiple counselors and I play them all in different ways to avoid them from being too similar. I do play other classes it’s just that that’s my fav.

    Great video! I'm trying to think of some alternatives, but I can't come up with any to displace these 10. There are even more cool things to try though beyond these top 10;) PvP warzones have a major drawback, you never know what you're going to get. They also have a major bonus, you never know what you're going to get. IMO the events are worth trying too; Gree, Bounty, Rakghoul etc. And don't laugh now, but to round out my additions and make a top 15 I'd day the very 1st flashpoint each side (Esseles, Black Talon). For a brand new player on their very 1st toon these really showcase the strengths of the game's style (cutscenes, voice acting etc) and give a great flavor for what lies ahead...

    • @ZakEmber
      @ZakEmber  8 лет назад

      Thank you so much! It's been a while since I made this video, and with reminders from other players, I can safely say there's a few items that would get switched around. If I did this over again, I'd probably put in the Revan Flashpoints and story thread, (Taral, Maelstrom Prison/Boarding Party, Foundry), the Terror From Beyond Op, (which is freaky, unique, and downright bizarre at times!) The one thing I can't do is the "I accidentally activated a freaking WORLD BOSS" moment... when I was first playing the game and got to voss, I clicked on an object that activated the Nightmare Pilgram, and didn't even get the time to say "Holy S$%^&!" before it wiped me into a level 40 smear. The devs took those activators out of the game, but man, that lives forever as on of my favorite, most unforgettable moments in the game!

      The Fleet Datacrons, (this can be done on Imperial side or Pub), was a special set of datacrons that gave +10 to every stat. They were hidden on either the other ships in the fleet than the main base and took a group to get, but were well worth it! If you have four people and an MGGS (a special item from Alderaan), you can get them.

    I have a SWTOR account that I haven't accessed in about a year, before that years. I have about $1000 put into that account, my own place jam packed full with every mount and everything I could get my hands on. Reason why I don't play is because I don't have a PC anymore but TOR is undoubtedly the best game I've ever played.
    Well, next to Kotor. I have Revan's robes, a shit load of other outfits but my main outfit is pretty sick, don't remember the name. I aged my character over time, he's a Jedi councillor. Orange lightsaber, one powerful weapon. My level is maxed, at least the max level a year ago. I still have stuff equipped from the year of release ;D So when I can log in to check things out I feel old in my outdated armour…but badass nevertheless.

    Good top ten. How much of this list can be done as a preferred-access(non-sub) player? I've played all classes (except Bounty Hunter/Smuggler) to level 50, collected some datacrons and rescued Revan from prison (Rep flashpoint). I only play PVE, so not alot of interest in PVP.

      Most of the list should be doable by F2P players... the only standouts that I think you'd have to pay for are HK-51, (required Section X access), and passes for Flashpoints and Raids to do Kaon Under Siege and The Eternity Vault.

    The Rishi>Yavin 4>Ziost Storyline is a must, especially if you want to understand who the Emperor truly is. He is the Dark enemy behind every storyline in the game up to the present expansion (KOTET). You have to do it just once, no matter the class, and avoid the temptation to Start Knights of the Fallen Empire when you hit 60. It is a great story, and worth it.

      Shadow of Revan Xpac definitely had an epic quality that KOTET hasn't matched yet. Multiple planets, multiple flashpoints, and a heck of a boss! It also brings up the most inconsistent parts of BW's writing: if the Emperor was so much more powerful than Revan, why was the fight against him so much less epic at the end of KOTET? BioWare really wrote themselves into a corner by the end of Ziost having the Emperor able to wipe out all life on a planet from the other side of the Galaxy. There's no way to really fight that. KOTFE and KOTET all seem to be written to bring the Emperor down to a more human, (ie manageable) level, but it also made the final fight against him in KOTET so much less epic.
      I love the way you think, amigo! Rishi>Yavin 4>Ziost Storyline is definitely one not to miss!

    One suggestion to new players. This is something I've told players several times in game. Do EVERY side quest, doubly true now that the XP and ranking system has been fixed. Before it was a requirement to do every quest in the game. Korriban, do every quest, leave the planet at level 10. Now you'll leave at level 15-ish. This is key because the story bosses became nothing more than a five minute duel and no fear of defeat.

    IMO, the Sith Warrior story line is far superior to that of its counterpart - the Jedi Knight. It's a far more engaging story all the way through, and you get personalized interaction with Vitiate/Valkorian prior to Shadow of Revan. It is also the best story fit for KotET due to this relationship as the Emperor's Wrath.
    Also, the Jedi Consular is a better story and fit for KotET than the Knight, as the Consular has spent most of the early character quest line building an alliance to take on the Empire. That experience comes directly into play on Rishi and Yavin 4 in Shadow of Revan... and to a greater degree throughout KotET. Not to mention the fact that the Consular was the one who eventually takes on the Children of the Emperor in the later stages of the class story.

    Getting Hk 51 was fun, but the way to get him was pretty tedious, the first part of the quest-line in the Theoretika was unique but the part when you had to scan for the parts was pretty boring and frustrating. The last 2 missions for the shroud questline was fun and interesting but it so difficult to find a group for the missions.
