i've seen Les Miserables over a dozen times, it's my favorite musical, and i now firmly believe that the part of Jean Valjean should always be played by 5 men!
just to let you know, Richard, the guy who started and ended the song, didn't quit the group the others felt he was too 'large' (weight) for the group and asked him to leave, he now has a thriving solo career and is performing all over the UK, doing more Jazz style pieces which is more his wheelhouse genre.
I believe someone has asked for verification of what I stated, unfortunately I'm not able to find the original source, I do believe it was a video or post that Richard himself put on his fb, I think possibly around the time the press in the UK (I'm in Australia) released the fact that he was leaving the group. I do recall it as I responded too it at the time, being a larger person myself I could relate. while searching for the original post I did come across a radio interview that Richard did about 3 years after, he was asked about it then, while he didn't say the weight issue, he did say that there where a few factors that came into it, and was trying to keep the exact details quiet. I always found it interesting watching where they positioned themselves for that first audition Richard was apart from the other 4, also interesting to note that he actually left just after the BGT final

I, too, remember hearing or reading that he was basically being pushed out of the group…being put more in the background, featured less, etc. I don’t think I ever knew the reason. He was the last member added to the group, so perhaps the others were closer friends. Personally (my opinion) I always felt the others were jealous of the attention Richard got. One small clarification Richard left after the finals of the following season after Collabro’s return appearance as the prior season’s winners.

Hi Travis If you like this kinda music you should really Checkout the group IL Divo. IL Divo lost one of their group from COVID. One is from U S , Switzerland, England and the one that died was from Spain. Or another group like Il Divo and Collabro are called Il Volo and they started as teenagers. They have sang with Placido Domingo

Richard wasn't asked to leave, he quit because he wanted to have a solo career. The prima donna trip. He hasn't become a star, but the other four guys have become stars. Their concerts sell out all the time.
Not exactly true. He wanted to have a solo career singing music more to his taste. He's been doing pretty well since. Yeah the rest of the guys are doing OK too, but not superstar status.
He was asked by email not to talk as much in interviews, no dancing and they were not happy with his solo projects which they all had. Richard wanted the band just to concentrate on collabro and not other project. They disagreed. Tbey all had other projects going so richard decided to do something else also.They did not approve yet they did their own thing. Sent richard an EMAIL. stop dancing, talking and doing his own project or he would no longer be in the band. Never talked to him EMAILED. I would leave too. Not prima dona a true entertainet

I think you will find that he left of his own accord. If he stated that they asked him to leave that is hearsay.

Richard Hadfield, who is the one that started the performance is the BEST. He has since left Collabro and is on his own. Check out his solos.

One is from France nobody is English. They are wonderful. I have seen a 4 th member recently is wonderful but there was only one Carlos

The by far best singer left the group. The one furthest to the left. When he quit I lost interest in them.
Me too. But am now following richard and loving it. The other guys to stiff. Richard down to earth
I feel the opposite all their voices are beautiful, just never heard them doing solos until Richard left.
