Press and hold the BAND button for full VFO mode. Move the internal jimper for access to the 15m HAM band as well. FYI, you need to press the NRC button to turn the NRC ON. It would help with your noise level there! It's a brilliant radio! 73

I haven't had a cb for the last 15 years. I've had gmrs for a couple of years now. I thought I would get back into cb for when we travel and also considering picking up the ham technicians license. I ordered this radio last night and hope to have it by the end of next week.

Great radio. that is also the Anytone AT 6666 PRO. with that program cable you can do more and change more settings. Like the SWR protect . set to like 2.5SWR shut down. the voltage protect can be set down to like 15V if you like. I set my settings back for extra protection. but normally stock settings are just fine. except on QT 60 my SWR protect was set 20:1 from factory . that is bad . I set 2.5 :1 . And if you are a HAM you can open lid. on speaker side. the 3 pin jumper behind display move over and radio goes down to 21 MHZ which is 15 meter HAM band. A extra bonus for HAMS ,With the QT 60 their is a change. NEW model out. The QT 60 PRO. it is shorter and the CTCSS/DCS codes are right on display . no need to look up in manual and the WX frequencies can be programmed through PC to anything FM between 136 and 174 MHZ . so if you want to listen on 2 meter HAM you can with the QT 60 PRO. That QT 80 draws around 15 amps max transmit. so 14 AWG or 12 AWG wire needed. 10 AWG would be better if long. That does CW as well . The QT 60 PRO does CW as well. You can put speaker mic on that QT80 or a Bluetooth one or headset . just wire it up. Radioddity has great stuff ! I have the QT 60 and love it. That is also the anytone AT 5555 N II . I find the Anytone programming software better. for QT 80 use the AT 6666 PRO software . Use the program cable that came with. it has a chip in it to assign a com port when plug in. no drivers needed. just select com port in software . That same cable for the QT60. which mine did not come with ,but had one I bought. works on many radios.

Thanks for your review. I was wondering about your experience with this radio on the "unlocked' bands. The watt meter on my antenna tuner is indicating this radio only outputs 80wats+ on the 10m band. The other bands, 15m, 12m, and "11m" the radio appears to only output around 50watts ssb. Is this your experience as well?
