I'm glad you have taken time off mate. It gives you time to reflect on what is most important to you and is good for your health. You should take holiday breaks on a regular basis even if it's only for a week. Your body needs rest to recharge your immune system. Your followers will still be here for you. Get well and look after yourself and Keegan. All the best mate.

Joel from one person with anxiety to another. You have been doing a lot in the last little while. Even when you were too tired to do anything, your mind continues to work. Once you get comfortable there and start feeling really at home, it will get better. Be kind to yourself and your Anxiety buddy. ❤️

Just remember, it's always ok to not to be ok!
Mental Health still has some stigma to it, albeit it shouldn't, but influencers like yourself can help share and break that myth. If YOU need help, or are feeling the signs you're not ok, don't try and hide from them, speak to your better half or a professional - there are lots of services out there. Thank you for sharing your vulnerable thoughts and feelings and well done for making less of a thing x

Hi Joel. I hope you feel better soon. Perhaps the fact that you don’t feel well and you also appear to be sacrificing the most by moving to a new city, moving to Keegan’s house, adjusting on how you fit into his and his children’s lives, leaving London, Lucy and your home. It’s a lot of emotion and changes. Keegan and his children ❤you. They are the new you. They will help you through this. It’s change for everybody and you all will be better for it. Keegan is taking your “remodeling” thoughts and ideas into consideration. He and his children are also learning how to navigate this change. After the remodel comes new furniture and slowly you will see it as your home. In time you will adjust. There appears to be so much love here. You and Keegan are going to come out of this move STRONGER together. Best wishes…Toni

Hey Joel, thanks for filling us in on how life’s been going for you. Sorry the anxiety level has crept back up, but it seems right to voice it so it doesn’t overwhelm you. Thanks for trusting us with the personal stuff; I know it must be difficult to sort what goes public and what stays private. Seems like your unexpected tonsillitis forced you to have a much needed break. I hope you and Keegan continue to feel better. Best of luck with your new goals. And remember, be kind to yourself! 😊

It is like when a colleague was behind on a few projects and was having problems closing them out. I said pick the easiest project, make a first pass through, do what you can, and note what others have to do. Then repeat on the second one . Getting started is the important thing.

Sorry to hear about your struggles with anxiety. I’ve dealt with it for about 20 years or more. I know everyone has to deal with it in their own way. I hope you can find what works best for you. I find that I have to switch up my tactics every so often. Getting good sleep and taking care of myself seem to be key. Meditating is also very helpful to me. Best of luck finding what works best for you but most of all don’t be gentle on yourself anxiety seems to rear it’s ugly head in times like this (your current life upheaval). Just keep reminding yourself that it will all calm down soon. 😊

A lovely video as always, Joel. Happy New Year and very best wishes to you and Keegan. As I've previously mentioned in a comment on another of your videos, my Mum died last year so it was, without doubt, the worst year of my life. I loved her more than anyone else in the world and so her death has led to grief of a kind I've never experienced before. Thankfully I'm getting grief therapy which is really helping. As for this new year I'm not going to put a lot of pressure on myself to achieve lots in 2023; I just want to be kind to myself and hope the year passes without incident for me and those I love. Really looking forward to following you gents throughout the year. I love your and Keegan's honesty and you just put a smile on my face. So, thank you. It means more than you know.

Strep throat/tonsillitis is very dangerous and so lightly treated by doctors. Son was sick @ nine months and they just said paracetamol, became listless, took to hospital. Treated as had caused it. Didn’t thrive like sister. It was recurring. Really bad when 15. ADHD boy was always tired. Had moved hours away for work. Phoned that he was really unwell, sweat pouring out, court flu from colleague. Big struggle to drive home for birthday. Jaundiced, unable to do anything. Almost died, weeks getting well enough for heart valve replacement. Recently had Covid, flu, sinus infection. Strep through, had to replace valve. Months trying to get bacteria out of body.

Hey Joel, Happy New year....sorry you're still sick, hopefully you will pick up soon. You mentioned your anxiety is worse at the moment, can i say that when you have been very sick for a while it can take ALOT out of your mental defences. Your body is spending so much of its resources fighting the bugs to get you well it just doesn't have the ability to fight your anxiety as well. As you start feeling back to normal more fully you will hopefully find your back on top of your anxiety again. In the meantime good job for recognizing things are a bit iffy and grabbing the right resources to help yourself. thanks for trusting in us to share this with, you are very much not alone in it. :)

Even when you love your job, it's still much nicer to just do whatever you want every day rather than what you feel you Have to lol. Bless your poor nerves, taking on all you have & during the holidays too! I have issues as well & I've ghosted numerous therapists, so you're def not alone in that. Just keep trying if you feel it's what's best for you. It takes time to find the right one for you. Anyway, happy you're back, sorry so long, xx 💖

Alot of people start a new year by accessing what what went wrong, or what went well, and what they want to do differently. I think that is normal for some people. I think that some people have times when they experience anxiety or depression, due to weather conditions, lack of sun,or major changes in circumstances, changes in,jobs, relationships, or moving, all of which can be major stressors ,I think everyone experiences these things at some points in life. I think if possible that people should try to take a break from their normal life to reaccess what is working in their life and what is not. I think alot of people make a list of unrealistic goals,,it might be more manageable to make smaller goals ,I want to lose this much weight in this time frame, instead say I want to lose this much weight per week. I think it's normal to get off track especially if you are sick or have a major life changing event like moving. I think that it makes sense to have individual goals and goals as a couple and to reaccess them at regular intervals.

I think you do a good job of sharing both the good and bad. As long as you are sharing what you want and are comfortable with what you share that is all that matters! Fellow anxiety sufferer here and I think it is understandable that your anxiety may be picking up right now. You are making a major move/change in your life and it can be scary! I know for me change (even a good change) can be overwhelming with all the planning and organizing that comes along with it. The Mama in me, and I am old enough to be your Mama, says to give yourself some grace and seek out therapy (always a good resource) like you said if necessary. Cheers to a smooth transition and a 2023 full of love, fun and new adventure! You got this! Feel better soon! Hugs to you and Keegan!

Sorry you were ill but glad that you're better! I think last year was weird and wonderful for just about everyone I know. So looking forward to making this one better, so Happy New Year to your entire household and wishing you the very best.

You’re going through a HUGE life transition and I also recently moved into a house with my S/O. I’ve found it helpful to be patient with myself and extra kind to myself while embracing a new routine.

Hope you are feeling 100% better soon. I used to get strep throat every time my siblings got tonsillitis. For some reason I never got it on my tonsils. But it's the same illness just in a different place on the throat. That maybe what Keegan had.
Hope everything with your move goes well.

I was properly hooked onto Instagram and was actually very proud (albeit overwhelmed) of my account and the unintentional hiatus I had to take was actually quite nice. Also, it was nice to know people missed me when I returned.

I'm glad your feeling better. I think taking that time off for just yourself is good for anyone no matter what you do, just to clear your mind and regroup. 2022 was a good year for me and 2023 is looking even better 😁.

    Hello Joel 👋
Just recently discovered your channel from your Joel and Lea channel is I was looking for British Christmas foods and entertainment. I am an American who is a bit obsessed with British culture and its history. I have become a huge fan of your videos and channel and have been catching up as I only recently started watching. I give you a lot of respect and admiration for doing what you do and for doing it so well! You are amazing 🤩 I am an older guy but can relate to so much of what you have to say, thank you! Keep up the good work and wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year 🎉

So good to see you again, Joel, after a much needed and well deserved break. Thank you for talking about your struggles with anxiety and how you've sought help through therapy. So many of us struggle with mental health, but are reluctant to do anything about it. By being candid with your viewers, you combat the stigma associated with it. I think the best part of 2022 for me was that I started seeing a therapist regularly. It's made such a difference in my life. Happy New Year to you and Keegan!

Joel my sweet boy this is now your home. London has become a rental property for you and you really have to look at it that way. Life moves on and so must we!! I have been with my husband for 31 years and married for 10. Now that you are with Keegan, you have become a couple so no more his and mine!! It is your house and that is the way you should view it!! Hope you both have a healthy & happy new year................J

Glad to see you back posting again and that you’re on the mend. I had a nasty bug before Christmas that’s left me with a lingering cough. Glad to see you settling in at Keegan’s and slightly weird that a southern RUclipsr I follow is now only just down the road.
My 2022 was very much a mixed bag. I lost a close friend in March after having an extra 9 years with him thanks to a lung transplant. Then my lovely dad got cancer and was gone within 3 months at the end of October. None of us really felt like celebrating Christmas. However on the positive side, like you, I feel I’ve met the one, a guy I can really build a life with. He’s been so understanding and supportive, I don’t know how I’d have got through last year without him. Hopefully 2023 will bring us some new adventures and happy memories.

Happy 2023! It’s good to have you back! Keegan is so organised and is the type of person to hold you accountable. I think your anxiety comes from the fear of the unknown. I think most people feel the same way but we have to just breath and take things as they come. Just deal with the things that are going on right now an don’t worry about things that have not happened or out of your control. I am so happy to have you back!

I feel the same about 2022. I had wonderful experiences. A new job with a significant salary increase. Success in my new job. Exciting travel. But there were definitely not so great things too. I am grateful for everything though because even with the bad, I’m in a better situation than many people.

Hey Joel, I hope you're feeling better. I had tonsillitis once years ago, and it was so painful-- so you have my sympathy. I was wondering if you like bone broth. That stuff helps-- a lot. Take care. ❤️

You’ll get back into the swing of it. You needed the break and nothing bonds a couple like being sick together 😂 glad you’re feeling more comfortable w/ the move. 2023 goals are to lose 50lbs and stop making excuses for not dating more. You & Keegan have inspired me. ❤ & don’t feel ashamed for ur anxiety

It's always anxious working gain after a break, plus you are still in the middle of your move to a new home and county, so quite normal Joel. I'm sure your anxiety will feel much better soon. Happy New home, HNY!

Happy New Year Joel. I think once you've completed your move you'll soon find your groove and will feel like you're back on track. I think everyone feels a bit like you described, when you have a break and then have to go back to work. You have a very personable personality and so even if 'nothings happening' just sitting and chatting as you have done is as equally enjoyable for us followers.
