Roddy was a lost dog that had been kicked around a lot. He is a real fighter, most Canadians up here in Winnipeg know what that’s like. Roddy came to my high school back in 2008-09..school was Windsor park collegiate. I was 16. I’m 32 now. I miss those days. I miss Roddy! Thanks Steve!
I'm from BC, born 1987 and 37 now and I was named after the legend Roddy (Roderick Toombs) Piper. When kids would make fun of my name I'd kindly remind them of the legendary badass I was named after. I spent months I was forced to work in Winnipeg on the railway and it's a few months of winter I'd rather forget 😂😂 🇨🇦👍
I've loved Piper since 88/89 & I was born in 1984. I never knew someone of the things in this podcast. I love & respect him even more now. RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper
It's a good thing to hear Roddy tell his life story to Steve Austin Probably one of the best ever storytelling sessions I've heard from Piper r.i.p Roddy
@@gw593 sure, but we all weren't driven from our ancestral lands to occupy the new world. Norther Scotland, particularly people who owned land were. The English also wanted the land for giant estates for the royals & the area for sheep 🐑 to graze.
This was wild. I didn’t know about the swimming nude in the 70s and before in schools was so normal. Hearing that was like petrifying almost lol. Roddy is king
Hey Scott Roddy also lived in Toronto and actually went to high school at Victoria Park Secondary School in North York! There’s pictures and Videos where he has a black Panther on his tshirt and that was the mascot for high school. The teams were called the Victoria Park Panthers!
God rest Roddy Piper. After I've heard in other interviews about him being molested as a kid, his story is so understandable. I know that by the late 90s his style was out of style, but even then, I loved the Hot Rod. Any man whose been stabbed multiple times for doing his job has my respect.
Nope roddy died Austin never apologized Roddy was rather hesrt broken over Austin getting his show pulled over will sasso imitating him Roddy quit podcast one over the show getting pulled Austin denied it all later Roddy couldn’t get a network to host his podcast he was about to go independent w Earl skakel do the show from his house Roddy died Earl gave a few interviews basically buried Austin for not taking a joke
He had head trauma and a.d.d and as much as it made him a legend and the best wrestling ever. His abuse and trauma. The abandonment hurt him off screen
Roddy had a very hard life. He played a fantastic heel, was king of the assholes, but was a very good person. Suffering as he did combined with the ability to be introspective often creates wonderful people like Roddy.
That’s not what happened man. Austin took issue with some of the things that Piper and Sasso (impersonating Austin) made jokes about and asked Podvast One to take the episode down. Two criticisms you can lay at Austin is that he should own the mistakes he’s made (he’s been lucky that people willingly gloss over his domestic abuse charge) and he should have talked to Roddy directly. Roddy for his part didn’t understand that Austin didn’t want a spotlight shone on the darkest part of his life and thought it was an episode Austin would enjoy. The two criticisms of Roddy are that rather than just let the episode be removed he did what he’s always done - take the extreme route and quit entirely. The other is that he then told his audience he was fired because Austin wanted that, when it wasn’t true.
They need to make a movie about Roddy Rowdy Piper. One of the Greatest on the mic.
