I have a leather mini Da Vinci (not the one in the video, but similar), it's been my planner for this year. Absolutely lovely.
There's a bit of confusion for Western users with the naming system for Japanese system planners, for the smallest sizes: the Western "pocket size" is usually called "mini" or "mini 6" (six holes on the paper), and the Western "mini" is usually called "mini 5" or "micro" (five holes on the paper). They might sometimes just be marked M6 or M5, respectively. Japanese M5 paper is a smidge narrower than the Western equivalent, but the Western paper still fits in the binders. Might interfere with side tabbed dividers though.
Once you get used to navigating that, though, there's a whole new world of super nice planners and inserts!
(Also, re: sizing, Japanese "Bible size" is the same as Western "personal size")
But yeah, Da Vinci is great for mini size planners, that size is a bit difficult to get hold of and it's my current favourite. Super handy, fits in every purse 😅

Ring systems are the best, especially with a ring size that isn't too crazy big. I like the green color, but it doesn't look like real leather to me, maybe because it isn't "leather" but has a mix of olive leaves etc. I would love a review of this system along side Plotter or William Hannah -since those are both priced similarly to this. Thanks!

Great job Ashley! Holding up well going Han Solo on these videos. Glad you did a test with the Pilot Iroshizuku, my favorite ink.

I bought this Raymay "bible-size" organizer from you, and it's lovely! So compact and polished! Definitely leather (I think the olive leaves are used in the tanning process?). I did notice that the paper that is included in the binder itself bleeds through a bit, as in this video. But all the packets of Tomoe binder paper that you guys are selling separately are great (in my experience) and don't bleed or feather at all, as one would expect. So I conclude that the paper included with the binder itself isn't Tomoe. It's great how many refills are available!

Oh my goodness I didn’t realize this was made of olives! I love that, I’m ordering one right now.

Oh.. after doing some research, it seems like these are not made of olives, just tanned with olives. So it is still animal leather. I’m disappointed, because a plant leather would be fantastic.

The only way in which I have ever been able to make a ring system work for me is by using the Mini 5/A8 rings/Filofax Mini size as a wallet. Currently using a Filofax Finsbury with a coin insert from Moterm, a mini monthly calendar and credit card pockets I hole-punched myself. What I enjoy about that way of using rings is their practicality: You can put in as many cards as you need and access all of them very easily. Coins and bills (kept in a back pocket) are super easy to access as well.
I don’t enjoy writing in a ring system because the rings always seem to get in the way and most binders are unnecessarily (in my opinion) bulky. Both the Plotter and the Raymay DaVinci might resolve that issue, so I’m like 👀👀👀 ever since I learned about the Plotter system, and the DaVinci in olive looks really pretty, too… The bamboo inserts look lovely as well! 💕 Not sure yet if I will take the plunge, but I’m definitely tempted.

the Bible size is so cute... but it's odd because there is not closure, but the picture of the binder that explains the olive leaf connection has a nice closure (albeit a different color). So I'd be all in if there was a closure, but for now I'll just admire from afar. 🙂

Nah, Not all Raymai inserts are TR, the Da Vinci series is extremely versatile but the manufacturer advertises that not all of their inserts are TR, Raymai makes their own "high quality" paper (which is honestly pretty good), It's a matter of verifying, surely the paper they tested here is not TR but the paper they make inhouse

A Japanese version which equates to Less Bulk due to thin Rings & the other part: Insert + Accessories Options!
❤Loved the Original Filofax, but it was a Brick in my Purse 😅
