Retired now . 37 years of driving trucks . By far most were MACKS . Good trucks .
If Mack made a V8 Turbo Diesel in the new Titan trucks, that would make for a beast of a truck capable of pulling 1000ton.
I would not be opposed to having one of these in my Kia Rio.
LMAO! you start it up...the vehicle twists into scrap and it spins around the fully intact engine and transmission which are combined, the size of your car.
It's not the biggest engine ever produced by Mack . The biggest engine ever made by Mack is the 998 vid V8 which is 16.4 liters .
Yeah that's my motor. I guess they should have said most hp. mines 500.
this is actually a volvo engine.
Yep, history forgot probably one of the best and biggest V8s ever. I was fortunate enough to ride in a Superliner with a tweaked E9 that made 700hp. This truck would gross 130k plus and run like a normal truck at half weight. And the sound...
GimmeDatHemi ! I got the pleasure of driving a Mack Superliner Magnum, I forget the horse power it had, the pulling power and seeing the exhaust manifolds hanging over the frame rails was amazing..
@@patrickjones148 yes sir you are right, d16 volvo
Best trucks Volvo ever messed up, well done.
This is extremely amazing!
1:33 must be the robot that put rings in upside down on the Titian at my job.
We are just getting it here in NZ to, and its a great motor!
omg i want part 2
Nice and these mack truck engines manufactured by Volvo usually roam more on US-22, I-78, I-476 I-80,& PA-33 due to them being close to the Factory
Amazing! All the power to move commerce.
Mack LRVSW trucks for the arctic DEW line haulage had a giant 12 cylinder.
awesome video i like swap that brand new engine in to the mack truck R-600
@Rawrtrigga I think most engines will work that way but there are other limitations that come into effect. The weight of the more powerful engine can make it impractical for use in smaller vehicles. The more powerful engine/not working as hard may not be working hard enough to keep the exhaust temperatures up, which can mess up the anti-pollution devices.
I believe Mack horsepower ratings are much more conservative than Cummins, Cat, etc. A 600 hp Mack must have brutal power.
That’s not the biggest engine Mack ever produced, the E9 was 998 cubic inches, beats out an MP10 by 12 Ci. Not to mention the MP engines are just rebadged Volvo junk.
1. SCANIA 770
2. VOLVO 750
😉
Mack MP10 and VOLVO D16 , R.I.P. (01/2017)
Thanks to Volvo's engineering. Mack engines are Volvo's with different color.
Yeah...no kidding.
I didn't know that. Thanks !
I know this was uploaded 10 years ago. But that’s a crank not a camshaft.
Volvo owns mack MP10=D16 same motor
Nick Purcella thank you, I came for that answer. I didn't know if Mack, once joined with Renault, was using a french design.
mack used to be at the volvo plant in virginia where my dad has worked for 15 years
Yeah.... d16 Volvo engine has the worst injectors and injectorcups. I've never been off work so often as when sudbury ontario Mack dealer would work on my Volvo. What a turd. The longest it went without going back to the dealer for repairs was 6 weeks. When the truck was new it ran strong and pulled hard. After the first visit they said Volvo demands a reprogram. I lost 2 gears on hills it pulled in high gear. They were never able to make this truck pull or get decent fuel mileage again. Every trip to the dealer it got worse and nearly put me in the poor house. Till Mack gets rid of Volvo then forget it. It ain't a Mack without Renault engines. It's a broke leg dog
Is that true?
@@endurotruckererniedesjardins It is funny how in the Volvo it is far more powerful and more reliable especially the ones down here in Aus and available standard to 700HP at the wheels and special order of 750HP
cool...........................................
in australia we have a 685hp MP10 engine
If am not mistaken we got it first.
Also when I drove a superliner V8 998 500 horsepower Mack back in 1985 it was only getting 4 miles per gallon today the new mp10 with 605 horsepower you can get anywhere between 5 to 7 mile per gallon at at 2150lb torque
All vehicles including Harley Davidson has robot assembly line. from my knowledge Renault acquired Mack and Volvo took over. 2016 Mack granite has Volvo transmissions design with 5 speed reverse transmissions. Mack is currently laying off 400 workers.
I Want one of those engine carts (agv)!!!!
mp 10 in Australia up to 685 ph and also 710 for the mines
hp not ph
@@buttonpusher37 They just upped the power to 750hp@!!!
You can be of good help to us, to unable Mack truck more guaranty thrust to many users hear in Nigeria I really love to speak with you
im hungarian truck driver before 15year.sorry but fact:mp10=volvo fh16 engine!16,1 litre inline6cyl!no just american made is very good!volvo, mack united.mp10 is volvo block, converted for us truckers and non syncronized gearboxes demands.no fight!in europe fh16 750hp,3550nm/950 rpm!silent, brutal power, economic, very low emission.12+2 speed full syncronized gearbox.i shift(in mack mdrive)very good automatized manual gearbox for maximum 250 metric ton.this is 555555pound!this is fact!!!!!!wide road!
No the engine was designed and created by RENAULT. They have different torque curves and sound totally different I have driven mp7, mp8 and mp10 and also d11, d13, and d16. I'm currently running mp8 in my chu613 i have ran it 100 mph quite a few times with its 425hp
Mac Knight you are an idiot they are the same engine and that is fact
Mac Knight mate, is the same engine they put in the volvo fh16. the only reason they sound different is because its got a different exhaust. if they put the same exhaust on a Volvo with the D16 700, it would sound the same
why is this so interesting haha
The Tool Man says "we need more power!!! hhurrrrrrr!!!"
Don't come on RUclips quoting facts! The people that troll on here are not interested in facts! if they were, they would do the research themselves! Then they would learn that almost NO Volvo engine parts will go into, or bolt onto a Mack engine, that the HP and torque curves are different. And that they are quite different engines to drive. Most would never, or will ever actually drive each truck back to back.
And boy it's got more guts than the 605, but only come with the auto trans only no manual crash box made strong enough.
I was expecting a Mass Accelerator Cannon.
that shit cray
I am gearbox engineer from Nigeria
It's a Volvo by design and doubt very much that the torque rise (ratio) is as good as real Macks have been generating in the past.
Looks like an volvo fh 16 engine, glad to hear the cam is solid, most of the fh volvos had a hollow cam shaft made of chocolate with pressed on lobes that move, wot a joke, volvo killed mack!!!!!!
The scania v8 are good but just 20hp lower than Volvo 750hp engine
This idiot in the video a tool. Mack produced the E9 / 16 Liter producing 400 to over 600hp. In addition, the E9 engine with a twin turbo setup produced 750+hp in Australia. In a marine or battle-tank application with four turbochargers (hyper-charging) the same engine produced 1150hp and close to 3000 lbs. ft. of torque. This same engine massaged by JR Collins (Buckeye Bulldog) would produce 5,000+hp. The latest MP10 is a 16 liter Volvo engine which never actually performed that well. All smoke and mirrors by Volvo Truck North America. The MP10 had so many programming and running issues when they were first released that the "Volvo D16" (MP10) was a complete FLOP in the Volvo product. Yes, in the Volvo product lines. I have been around the Mack product lines and worked for them for years.
e9 is 16,4litres
Yep, the d16 Volvo was so bad that they finally pulled it from the North American Market.. I don't know what they still have back in Europe but I don't care.
R.I.P. Mack.
I wan't one of those for my razor scooter
They shouldn't never stopped building the mp10 605 horsepower that was an Awesome engine it would walk away from any big cat on Hills I seen it happen and this is fully loaded hauling dozers up hills oversize loads crossing over 90000 lb and these mp10 Mack 605 horsepower I would walk away from a Cat 550 and 600 horsepower and they both were hauling dozers
Laughs in Australian
@DragracingX a higher hp engine has a shorter lifespan. these engines need to last for 700,000 miles with minimal maintenance so they are de-tuned.
Hey I got a question. Is it possible to get a mack engine custom made to fit a truck if you had the money? Will the company let you?
HKSumlax anything is possible. physical differences may be the problem. check oil pan shape and motor mount locations.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate that
HOLY JESUS 16 LITER
Mack 600hp 16liter in-line 6 engine? It was too weak if compare with Volvo FH16 750 v6 and Scania R730 v8.But i think 600hp is enough for an heavy duty truck.
You're wrong driver the mp10 is the largest most powerful Mack engine ever built it puts out 605 horsepower 2150 lb torque the old superliner V8 998 only put it out 450 horsepower plus the other one you could buy with 500 horsepower the most torque you could get out of them wear 1860 lb torque
I wish I can be connected to.your company for a business relationship I'm in Nigeria
In Australia u get 685hp
Would it fit my honda?
@DragracingX Hp isn't all that useful for a truck such as this. They need high torque at low rpm to get their heavy loads moving. That's where the 2000+ ft-lb of torque these engines create at ~1200rpm comes in handy.
ok this engine is not mack's engine. volvo makes the engine for mack. mack only makes chasis .its been that way for about 7 to 8 years now. stop comparing this engine to volvo's 700 horse power engines both engines were made by volvo
I wouldv never expected this to be a 6 cilynder. 8+ makes more sese to me the cilynders must be masive.
What about the E9 V8MACK THAT HAS 992.
DESPLATEMENT TERND
UP MAKES MORE THAN.
605 HORSE POWER. THEM
V8'S CAN MAKE A LOT OF
HORSE POWER. BE NICE
IF THEY STILL MADE
THEM. AND THE SUPERLINER .
735hp Scania
@Rawrtrigga Sorry, but more hp = less fuel. I know that sounds like a contradiction but the more powerful engine doesn't have to work as hard, and gets better fuel economy. Ask any trucker. ( I've been in the business for 30+ years)
16L 605 hk 😆 Volvo 16L 750 hk 👋👍💪
i was expecting a donout
Inline 6. BULLSHIT!! Where's the V8?
@thedetective22 what's that
@thedetective22 first thing on your mind eh? i think we all know what that means.
But, will it blend?
Volvo FH16 750 hp/3550Nm and no smoke ...
a engine that size and only 600BHP ??? Haha
Gravess@ They just upped power to 750hp, for the Volvo only!
Robots are making hamburgers!
Volvo dosent make any V engines there 750 is a straight 6
@salsa20 Self checkout is already doing that.
how straight
@Anthony1x11 the company replaced you, not the machine.
@NoxNoctisUmbra nah you haven't.
I was thinking of Apple computer
i was excpecting a burger
2nd last
I'ts a volvo..............pfft
lmao put that in a lil ford ranger
Volvo engine
Last
terrans...
OgreZeWin will be the last to get laid
Ha ha ha ha best lol. This is a joke now with the tesla semi ha ha ha ha
Love scr hate egr this engine will be a great hauler and fuel economy will eclipse US cat cummins Detroit cos they're all runnin too hot with exhaust gas gettin pushed back thru motor that's why is was originally designed to leave thru exhaust and not return not get re vented into engine and keep thermo fan kicking all day long who ever passed egr as a good emissions solution was just a cheap ass wanker!
first
MP3 IS NOT A GOOD MACK TRUCK
Ever since Volvo took over Mack Trucks Mack Trucks have turned to shit
Not really impressive.. I much prefer Volvo and Scania trucks. Volvo has the most powerful mass produced truck engine ever built with 750 horsepower. Scania following close behind with a 730 horsepower v8.. Yanks got nothing on them
It's actually very impressive considering the "Yanks" have MUCH more stringent emissions standards than in Europe. Neither your Volvo or Scania engines are offered in the USA for that reason. These Mack Titans hold the record for pulling the world's longest road train in Australia, so they can hold their own.
True, but most of their engines, transmissions and transfer cases are designed and manufactured in Hagerstown, Maryland, USA.
Jonka Olofsson come to Australia and we show you what a tune v8 MACK will do to your poofter Volvo trucks you guys don't even pull decent weight
Alex Johns the fh16 700's pull pretty hard mate, they got shit loads of torque
Ever heard of the C510 Kenworth? 19 litre Cummins mate
