Great, great video mate. We were with you the whole way. I think the fact you were so honest about the fear made it even better. Also, those conditions were not ideal. Brilliant mate. That's inspired me to get up there.
Nice one Andrew ! Fair racking up the miles with the roving coverage 😀 The Scottish scene just keeps getting better !! Look forward to hitting these soonest. Take it easy & keep up the good work
Well done Andrew. That took some nerve. The kids don't have any fear. Us oldies on the other hand are constantly thinking about what we might break! Better to back off and live to go another day.
Well, that was timely... We're heading up to Aviemore this weekend so there's a better than even chance we'll end up at Glenlivet on one of the days. It looks like a lot has changed in the couple of years since we were last there (and it's a bit less of a traipse than Tarlands would be...). Cheers.
I loved seeing your session and getting better and better at that last section. I wish I was able to jump like that for sure!!! Plus that 'downhill' at the end looked immensely fun!!!
Great effort on the jump and nice sessioning video. That new jump trail looks pretty scary for me. I’ve done the orange a few times and never a proper effort and keen to try the gap near end. But I’m 50 and only started jumping this year. Nailed keeping my feet on flat pedals on jumps in last few weeks. The new blue jump trail at tarland has been great for sessioning a few features to build confidence and the local Yeti trails nearer to home. Great to see these Jump trails being built in Scotland and the youngsters hitting them ❤
Great video 👍🏻 My son was one of the Trailcoach crew 😀 They do worry about breakages - their phones when they land on them 😂 As another commenter said, you undersell your skills! I'm 45 and learning my way back into the sport. I keep stealing snippets of advice off Ramsay when he's coaching the kids 🤪
This place is gonna be awesome when it's dry without the mud slowing you down. I haven't stopped by your channel in a while, so I'm glad to see you're still going strong. The wife still ride with you too?
I’ve heard from people who’ve ridden there since in the day, and they say it goes well 👍 That’s for checking back in. The misses didn’t get out on the bike much these days unfortunately.
I was up there today, conditions were much better after a couple of dry days but a few ruts seem to be developing. I’m 50 and self employed so only walked it very early this morning!
Anything other than table tops and small doubles has me scared 😱🤣 well done for for riding the gaps mastered after a few attempts, Glenlivet looks great thanks for sharing.
nice one Andrew, well done getting over the meh moment and getting a good session in - trails looked fun and riding was not too shabby either :) cheers
@@McTrailRider best remedy for when you feel like that is to go out for a shred - keep it up Andrew, be good to see you in the mountains again soon - perhaps not putting the gap jump skills into practice though! ride on
Looks sticky! I do worry about trails built with this sort of clay rich dirt in our perennial rain. Some of the Tarland trails built with the same sort of dirt weren't holding up too well yesterday. Trail maintainers will have earnt their dinner for sure
That was a concern I had when riding Tarland, but the weather was dry when I was there, so it was hard to gauge. This trail certainly didn’t hold up that great, but rain and a huge amount of traffic wouldn’t have helped.
Looking good mate , love the content . Was looking for some advice am in cannich this weekend do i go west to torridon or east to tarland, ballater and glenlivet . Not sure on conditions at this time of year . Keep up the good work mate
Well done on the jumps. I'm older and more risk averse than you lol. One of my localish bike parks but yet to see Kierans line. A trip for May me thinks.
Great vid. Solid effort/performance. And I know what you mean about feeling self conscious with others watching (esp kids). Discretion being the better part of valour means just watching your jumps made me queasy. Nice blue track though.
I think it was a combination of rain on opening day and a significant amount of traffic throughout the day. They probably should have closed it off when I was there, we were all causing a bit more damage😬
Looks great and your jumping is better than mine for sure, I can't jump for💩 i tense up and dead sailor...give me 6/7 ft drops instead or steep rooty techy stuff and id be fine🤔
Really wish people would stop shouting "RIDER!!" as if it gives them the right of way when approaching from behind. It works for enduro racing, but makes slower riders on normal ride days panic. Just slow down and pass when it's safe ffs.
It's not neceserily for clearning riders out the way - it's for letting people know you're dropping into a trail when on a session so pushers can get out the way or people can video! Totally against folk shouting ahead for slower riders to get out the way though, hate that - just slow down and take a gap!
I agree with Ramsey here, this isn’t shouting from an arrogance stand point, it’s for safety. There were many people riding short sections of trail and then pushing back up, or looking at the jumps etc. Many of them shouting rider to the others if they seen someone coming down the trail.
Great, great video mate. We were with you the whole way. I think the fact you were so honest about the fear made it even better. Also, those conditions were not ideal. Brilliant mate. That's inspired me to get up there.
The fear was very real on this one Jamie. Definitely wait for drier weather for your visit 👍
Great video Andrew well done for getting over the doubt and getting them done and having fun.
Super glad I managed to hit something on the jump trail, I would have been so disappointed if I hadn’t.
Fair play mate - I was up there on Saturday and had a quick look - well above my pay grade! 🤣
It’s a fair bit bigger in real life isn’t it 😬
Great to get a wee shred dude, been too long! Stoked you got the biggies done in the end 🤘 #gwinning
Cheers Ramsay, turned out to be a great day in the end 🤘
Fantastic video, i was egging u on to clear that last jump. Totally along for the ride. Keep uo the great work
Thanks dude
Fantastic Video Andrew….amazing trails in Scotland!! You undersell your jump skills…you did Awesome!!😁👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Steve, I can jump, it’s just I don’t get to that often and I almost have to learn again each time.
Nice one Andrew ! Fair racking up the miles with the roving coverage 😀 The Scottish scene just keeps getting better !! Look forward to hitting these soonest. Take it easy & keep up the good work
Starting to get about more, not that the weather is improving 👍
Nice video andrew and good on you for hitting them jumps after having doubts you faced your fears and overcame them
It took a lot to get there tbh.
Well done Andrew. That took some nerve. The kids don't have any fear. Us oldies on the other hand are constantly thinking about what we might break! Better to back off and live to go another day.
Yup. Just turned 55 and broke a couple of ribs on Monday at Tarland. Wasn’t even jumping.
@@duffymoon3716 yep, bones break more easily the older you get. I’m 60!
....and takes longer to heal up! I'm 55 & have a well developed survival instinct! Hope the ribs heal up soon.
Is a tricky balance, I want to have fun and push myself, but I want to do the same tomorrow 😬
Heal up soon Kevin
@@McTrailRider Duffy broke his bones, not me.😉
Thanks for showing your experience of this, great to get a down to earth view of tackling a jump line. I think I would have been stuck on the blue!

Ideal! Tarland Matt very well be worth the extra miles as well tbh.
The new pump track at nearby Boat of Garten is worth a visit too If you're into that kind of riding.

Just keep hitting them smaller jumps until your really comfortable, then move it up when your ready 👍
Keep at it and you’ll be doing whips on all the big jumps in no time 👍
That’s the hope 🤞
I know what you mean about confidence, sometimes you just don't feel it. Great video 👍

😂😂 those wee guys rip!
Admire your honesty. Personally, I wouldn’t dare try those jumps. Yet. Need instruction I think.
Jumps are the nemesis of most mountain bikers I reckon.
Excellent addition to the trail centre.
Great riding!
Very much so
it gave me a big smile when you done the big jumps. A big well done. I know what it feels like...🙂👌

one trail I'll never be riding. You made it look easy TBH.
Never say never Ross
Been needing trails like that up north for a while.
