I didn't know Julius was a father, one of his half-brothers has 420 bunny children.

Julius is a dead ringer for Felix.

Apparently, Julius wouldn't be a thing at all if Disney went to a different distributor. M.J. Winkler once distributed Felix the Cat cartoons, but a dispute between her and the creator, eventually led to his copycat Julius.

Aparently, Disney watched the 1921 season of the Aesop's and liked the style Terry used to draw, so he mixtured like Felix with the unammed cat. Later the unnamed cat would pass from Van Beuren to Terry himself, which would later become Percy from the Terrytoons, which had his own series with Little Roquefort the Mouse from 1951-1956. Actually, Disney got Mickey Mouse from one of the Mouses from the Aesop's style.

I hated cartoons when I was a child in the 50's. They seem to always beat someone up all the time. They were always doing something violent. The same thing with Abbott and Costello and Three Stooges. I don't see why people thought that was funny.
