Great seeing some of your builds in situ and the trains running past! Enjoyed the session, thanks Paul, now on with the build of a local pub inspired by your videos. Cheers!
Wow! That's one great running session Paul. I love to see the variety of Irish locos and rolling stock, they really look the part as they glide through your very convincing scenery. Your level of modelling is truly exceptional! Cheers, Alan, Langley, BC
Hello Paul, I thoroughly enjoyed that. Your collection of Irish rolling stock is unique within my modelling community, I don't know of any other modeler with Irish trains. It is beautiful to see running on the Galgorm Hall layout. Somehow I now fancy a pint of Guinness. Regards, David.
Thank you David, there are plenty of us out there and there’ll be more to come from me too as I ditch the BR stock and concentrate fully on the Irish modelling. 😬 Paul
@@GalgormHall Oh wow!. I did not expect that you would make a drastic change like that. I enjoy having various running options. I shall watch with interest as you make the change. David.
@@trainsontuesday as much as I love the BR stuff I felt it was time to pick a side and stick with it if for no other reason than to enable me to budget for future models coming out. I’ll still maybe pick up the odd British loco if it takes my fancy but on the whole it’ll be solely Irish from here on in. Paul
Great stuff Paul, myself and my son are over next week... Getting our Irish traction on... visiting Whitehead Museum, Enterprise to Dublin... and many a Translink jaunt...😉😉☘️
Hello Paul. Lovely running session mate, a couple of things caught my eye. the small house in one corner looked like it had been there forever. blended in well with the senary. the iron wagons looked great, and unique i dont think i have seen that type before....great stuff catch up soon....Tony
Thanks Tony. That house is one of my very old scratch builds but does look right at home in that corner. Those wagons are carrying gypsum whatever that may be. Chat soon buddy. Paul
Thanks Geoff. I’ll be at Bangor for sure, just not sure what day yet. Let me know when you are going and I’ll try and arrange the same for a meet up and chat. Paul
Lovely wee video, gave me a smile. I was watching all parts think it ‘I remember that video and that one. Oh, and that too!’ Where you at Bangor last weekend ? I know there’s a second one in Bangor again towards the end of May, 21st? Ian
Hi Ian. You’ve now been designated as Wikipedia for Galgorm Hall if you remember all those videos. 😂 I was at Bangor last week, went down Saturday morning and a had a thoroughly good time. I may get down to the show later in the month but not 100% sure yet. Paul
@@GalgormHall Wikipedia for Galgorm Hall! Brillant ! 😂 I have been going back over past uploads recently as I was laid low for a few weeks. But I’ve a small layout planned as a result 😊 I missed Bangor and I’ll miss the next one too unfortunately as I can’t get back over. All the best, Ian
Paul I really enjoyed seeing more of your layout and to be honest I did not even know you had such a layout, I thought you focused on structures only. Your scenery is so realistic of the Irish countryside I remember as a kid. Please share more as you continue your scenery progress. One question, on NI coaches how did you mount the Kadee couplings, I have these 4 coaches but with the big ugly D tension lock couplings and plastic wheels. Great work as always.
Hi Eamonn, praise indeed and many thanks for it. I’m really glad the scenery hints at its Irish roots, I must be doing something right. With regards the coaches I did a video on the conversion of these in which I also covered the removal of the D couplings and replacing with Kadees. Scroll back through and you should find it ok but if not I’ll send you a link. Paul
Lovely running session Paul, Nice to see something different running too. Out of interest how do you go about painting your tracks? Do you just blast it all with an airbrush or do it more by hand? Im looking for an easier way is all lol
Hi Michael nice to hear from you. I went down the laborious route so definitely not the easiest, of painting the track by hand, cinnamon brown I think was the colour. I’ll do all the ballast weathering once ballasting is completed everywhere.
Love the trees and vegetation on this layout.
Thanks so much Kieran. Paul
Gosh, has Irish Railway Modelling come a long way from the days of Triang's CIE Hymek. I love this video for loads of reasons. Thanks.
Huge leaps forward in Irish modelling and much of it down to IRM. Long may it continue. Paul
Lovely video you put together thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Paul
