    A very helpful 5 minute light breathing video. At present I use your coherent breathing 4...6... video twice a day, mornings and afternoons/ evening.
    Also I'm able to practice at the gym, nasal breathing, some light breathing, some short breath holds, (cautious as suggested) using the treadmill. Freshens up my gym program altogether, which is now more focused around breathing, nasal breathing rather than getting through the exercise programmes. The whole 40 mins. hour is fresher and immediate, rather than some days of 'slog' :)
    Great practice Buteyko breathing very glad I have taken this up. Many thanks, john.

      Hi @laisa,
      It’s wonderful to hear you’re feeling so light and at ease-that’s such a positive sign that your body is responding well to the practice! Reduced breathing can be particularly helpful for managing issues like migraines, fatigue, and even the challenges of perimenopause, as it supports better oxygen delivery and balances the nervous system.
      Remember to take things at a comfortable pace, especially as you work through longstanding issues. Gentle, consistent practice is key to sustainable improvements. I’m so glad to hear about your progress and can’t wait to see how it continues for you! ✌️😊

    If it is comfortable is it beneficial to go longer periods?
    Also when you stop if you have natural desire for deep breath what to do?
    Is this method not to do such full yogi breaths?

    • @thebuteykomethod
      @thebuteykomethod  7 месяцев назад

      Yes you can do for longer periods. Often it is practised using rounds of 3-5 minutes with a 30-second break between each round, and sometimes with additional breath holds. Yes try to resist the urge to take deeper breaths during or after - if the urge is very strong, it may be that the air hunger was too strong during the practice - so then go more gently. 🙏🏻

    one more question....when is start this breathing..is it normal that we feel liitle suffocation

    • @thebuteykomethod
      @thebuteykomethod  8 месяцев назад

      Yes absolutely - you want to feel a mild air hunger, a gentle shortage of air, like you'd like to take a deeper breath, but you don't. Just don't make it so strong that you feel tense or stressed.

      I have an eating disorder and this happens to me when I deprive myself for a long period of time. At the begging when I started having this, I did not think about it being related to being starved, but then I came to the conclusion that it is related to starvation. Also being starved makes me not sleep well, and it could also be related. So it could be that your problem of depersonalization is related to not eating a balanced whole food diet (with enough calories, enough healthy fats and enough protein [for me preferably animal based]) and/or sleep deprivation (try to avoid coffee, tea or any drink that could affect your sleep negatively)

    This didn't feel like it did anything for me, maybe because I've studied flute for decades and I'm too comfy with the air hunger feeling? I would stop holding my nose and then forget to breath when it was time to breathe 'nornally.' I'm not sure what that really is for me, because I'm so used to manipulating my breath.

    • @thebuteykomethod
      @thebuteykomethod  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes it could well be that your CO2 tolerance is already very high. There are stronger versions, and you can also start to combine with physical exercise. Check out "The Oxygen Advantage" by Patrick McKeown if you are interested 🙏🏻
