I had convinced myself years ago that I didn't like the cars from the mid '70s on as much as the older ones but the more time goes on, the more I like them. It's a car that I'd love getting picked up and going somewhere in. Congrats on taking such good care of it. You made a great choice to keep it.

Considering this is a malaise era car, it's a good thing they don't come from the factory like this one did. I'd love for cars to return to this look, instead of the sea of boring nowadays.

That is a beautiful car. I was 16 when that car was made. I wish cars still looked like that and had V8 engines. I also think that it is wonderful you used the original sized 15" Cragar S/S wheels and RWL tires. I've seen thousands of beautiful vintage cars totally ruined by some idiot putting 24" wheels on them, with tires that have 1" sidewalls. I had a lot of trouble even finding a set of 225/70-15 BFG T/A Radials for my 1977 Corvette. A number of tire dealers told me they didn't even make them anymore. It is really sad what has happened to cars these days. Keep that car forever. They are getting almost impossible to find in that condition for anywhere near a reasonable price.

This car is solid like a tank. I remember my first accident. I was driving a Dodge Colt 83 and I was hit by a LeMans driving by an old lady. When the police came for the accident report, the Leman was still so "clean" that the police was unable to find the impact point on this car. They finally choose randomly a spot from the front bumper on the Lemans as the impact point.

bibodude my dad had a 65 Catalina and was hit by a mustang in the passenger side back fender. When the cops showed up they saw a mustang with the driver side fender curled up past the door, and hood bent to hell. Catalina had a smug of yellow paint from the mustang.

I had several friends with this kind of car. One even had a Can Am.... with the shaker hood scoop from the TransAm. Nice full frame cars... but the first year of the smog motors with the first catalytic converter installed at the factory. My sister owned a 1975 Chevy Nova SS with the 350 V8 4bbl carb and dual exhaust. Man... that little car would run!

WOW I had a 74 Lemans, only difference was the front grill. Only issue was in Canada it rusted really bad, I drove it 9 years and 150,000 miles and drove it all over North America, replaced a lot of metal and added several cans of bondo to make it. Mine came with a 2 barrel carb and this ridiculous pollution pump. I added double bump heads, nice cam, manifold, holley carb, headers, it drove well, terrible off the line though.
