Speeding ticket everyday 🥵🥵🥵 These are some inhuman blastbeats. And the sound of the drums is like Thunder just before the flood came to drown all the sinners!
Hes doing double stroke rolls in his fills lol. That shit is so cool. This dude is on a completely different level. I wish he was still in Dark Funeral. Hes so accurate and militant with his style, yet can play a groove so well. Jalomah is good, but Ive seen some live videos of him playing soo sloppy. Everybody has bad days though I guess. I saw him live and he was good then. But still, Dominator all the way.
I'm gonna just say this... Nils playing in DF was like a using a thoroughbred race horse in a kid's pony ride at the fair. I love DF, but he actually had to hold back on a lot of their songs live... just to play in tempo. Nils is on a different fuckin' level.
this works perfect because with the headphones I thought dude was a troll and those were his ears for a minute. I was like dang troll really got the chops. he's killing it
that is absolutely bonkers. a lot of drummers who play fast take little micro breaks in between their blasts, whether that's dropping to play some eighths on the cymbals with some intermittent 16ths or whatever. but the fact that you can sustain your blasts for long periods of time is what's truly impressive and an incredible demonstration of skill, and very rare.
This is why it’s so great. First off he plays with such confidence and conviction. Second, there are no missed notes. He’s carrying on the tradition of Pete Sandoval around the Formulas Fatal to the Flesh era in 1998. After every Crash it’s immediately back to the Ride or Hi-hats without missing the next 8th note. No micro breaks to recover. No two bars of blast beats then either a fill or start hitting accents on a China cymbal to give the non-snare hand a tiny bit of relief.
As Nils explained in stuff he did for Marthyn's DTA: He "rests" his hands while doing all those fills inbetween blast beat, so afterwards he can go again fresh.
Yeah I've seen, but regardless he still has incredible stamina and needs those rests way less often than most extreme metal drummers today @@AUM_-po9sc
@@energyintuition Epic dude, sounds like we have very similar influences! I have never seen anyone dominate tom fills like Nils, the only logical explanation is he is possessed by a drum demon.
look at how the drumset shakes at a regular speed, like how a regular drumset shakes when a hard-hitting drummer but not as fast plays. evidence that this playthrough doesn't seem to be sped up. plus he plays like this live too so
Nils, can't be said enough, no words to express how perfect it is... I have a really hard time finding the words. Let's start with the fact that for a long time I had no idea why a black metal drummer fascinates me so much these days, after 20 years of listening to extreme metal and countless concerts... I really had no idea, I just felt that it was something intangible, something special, something too complex to understand at first. At first, of course, what I perceived from it was the surreal, unreal fast playing and fanatical radiance during playing. After that the complexity, variety and precision of the themes, totally overwhelmed, insane speed and a very unique, unusual, characterful style. It's a very unique, very creative drumming, as I can see becoming more and more deeply structured, developing and refined over time, becoming more and more insane and irrational. I didn't understand for a long time what makes it so interesting to me that not a day passes before I listen to one of the "Dominator masterpieces". I didn't understand why it was so unusual, even though I know and love the work of countless excellent drummers, somehow this is different for some reason. There is something strange about it, something exciting, out of place, but still fitting in perfectly. It fills me with an excitement that cannot be compared to anything else. I used to listen to a lot of electronic music, but it still took a long time to realize that yes, there are unusual but familiar things in it, and these electronic music influences in the drum themes makes extreme metal very interesting. When I saw that you share a lot of videos that you play dark electro and other electronic music, I realized that maybe this was so unusual until now, or at least this is one of those things. Very creative and unpredictable, one thing is for sure, no matter what you play, it's brilliant and addictive :) Absolutely out of this world. You deserve the deepest respect.
Nils is definitely on a different level, it's totally insane, not only the speed, but stamina and accuracy, i really hope he makes a tutorial for blasting 🤟🏻💪🏻
My favorite bit is the slow tom tom groove he gets into for a bit before going back into the blast beats because it broke things up really nicely. This guy is insanely skilled! That was the very definition of bomb blasting!
Majestic as always, man. Went straight to Spotify to check the whole album out. Your drumming's REAL and Human, no machine can do this. Hails from Venezuela!
Today's scene BEST drummer. I quit "following" BM bands years ago because of continual disappointment with todays scene. I "follow" musicians, more than bands. Nils is clearly a musician that i still keep an eye on what he do. Last Nordjevel wasnt as good as their previous effort, sadly, but Nils still Annihilate everything. That Horde of Hel album is alright. I like a few tracks, but again, i'm "all ears" to the drum works, and don't mind much whats going around Nils drumkit. Really hope you stay healthy and fit for many years to come, Brother! \m/
Wow! You always amaze me man. You're hands down my favorite drummer and inspiration for the craft itself. Wish I was able to take your classes one day hopefully. That'll be incredibly amazing.

Not only he can play crazy fast blast beats at 280+ bpm, but he can also groove, and have awesome fills with great dynamics. What a beast. Nils rules.
I agree. And with quality strokes that are precise and powerful. Throws in some ghost notes on the snare within some of those fills. Incredible.
