He/she laughed all the way to the Bank ahhhhhh that $300 for sitting in the office doing nothing ahhhhhh

Trucking is the only business where a customer tells the service provider how much their going to pay, and the only way to combat that is to tell the customer go to hell and move it themselves, and if everyone does that it will get better, but like you said you always got bottom feeders. If it dont pay let it stay

Great content! I have been studying to become semi truck driver or hotshot. I figured hotshot would be the start to see if I like it, however I am contemplating buying a Ram 3500. I have about 30k in the bank. I’m also thinking about grabbing one of these trailers off Facebook for cash deal. I plan to get my CDL before I start but will need a mentor. I watch your channel a lot. I certainly don’t want to be low balled on the freight. I’m a former Veteran as well. Keep up the good work.

I've been a company CDL A driver for over 25 years and I have no regrets. While I'll never be a millionaire, I'm financially secure with zero debt. I'm a local driver, home every night and I get paid by the hour. Over the years I've considered becoming an owner operator, both semi truck and hotshot. Everytime I would crunch the numbers it just didn't make any sense financially.

25 yrs ago, before the internet, I was leased on to ACME trucklines. Every load that left Dallas paid $1.59 a mile. Backhauls were crap, low buck stuff that just tied you up for too long. I refused to deal with their backhauls and just boogied back empty as fast as i could for the next full price load. Did that for 3 years and only worked 3 weeks a month to make my self determined quota. Started with a paid off trailer, carried no credit card debt. Bought a new truck every year. No out of pocket repair bills. Time off way more important than getting rich in my book. I don't think that would work these days.

Looks to me like the easy solution is before you decide to get into this business, pay for an hour or two of an accountant's time that is very familiar with or specializes in accounting for owner operator trucking businesses. I've watched videos on this hot shotting with pickups and trailers and the fad of the Sprinter vans. There's a lot of guys that are basically telling you to stay the hell away from both of them. If there was a lot of money in either one of them there would be companies that would be looking for drivers for Sprinter vans and hot shot business with pickups and trailers. However there are plenty of trucking companies that are looking for drivers. Best of luck to anyone that's in this business because there's something Un-American about hoping to see somebody fail.

I’m tired of hearing about how these guys don’t have “numbers” or there “un marked” before you act like you know everything about the transportation industry and talking down/ worrying about what other people are doing maybe do a little research. There are states like Texas where as long as you don’t leave the state, are under 26k and not hazmat YOU DO NOT NEED TO RUN NUMBERS! You can go straight to the fmcsa and find that out it varies state by state. Just cause you see someone “running with out numbers” maybe mind your own business and don’t just assume there doing something illegal.

The FMCSA is very clear about the FEDERAL marking Requirements for all Motor Carriers.
If you have an MC and doing business in Texas and you are running intrastate trucking. You still have to run a TDOT #
Its the people that ran "back in the day" that cause all these regulations we have to deal with today.... everyone thanks you.
No one really cares if you are running illegal.. you won't be around long.
Life is full of choices and seem you have spent a lifetime making poor ones
