I heard that too, but I read through the rules and didn't see anything regarding that. Perhaps it's because now they take direct replay links instead of user-made clips, so they just make their own montage.

the reason that gaijin might not accept it is that they look from 3rd person - and it looks less impressive there

I only take HE with this one. 122mm HE is a one shotter most of the time. I sometimes take it to higher BRs in the hopes to get some godmode 😅 It was already late game and I figured it was the best tank to kill that ZSU-57-2.
