173rd is a separate brigade located in Italy, it functions as quick response forces in Europe and Africa. 101 Haven't jumped for decades, now they are an air assault division, they do weird helicopter stuff.
I have a quick question- I didn't see any of the paratroopers dropping with their rifles or any firearm. Is there something I am missing, or are they simply not allowed to conduct exercises with live weapons during these drops in Italy?
It’s not a real combat jump so we would be issued a rubber weapon with some real parts to it and the weight about the same, think of it as a training weapon, No need to bring real weapons in case something happens to it
for training jumps that after they land are going into the field for a while they might jump with rifles with BFAs for training on ground but it will be in a weapons cause along your leg and if not and just going home after then sometimes wood or just something to add the weight
Get on cattle trucks, go to green ramp, do pre jump rehearsals, get chuted up and wait....and wait...and wait to get jmpi'd, then wait....wait.....and wait. Then waddle on the plane, take a seat, fall asleep until it's time to go. Didn't make it out before the light turned red? Stand there until the plane makes a race track. Finally get to the roaring black hole in the side of the plane where you fall out (up 6 out 36.....yeah right). This is what you've been waiting for...that half minute decent into darkness. Land, gather up your chute and take it to the turn in point, run across sand for the green chem light at the woodline and wait for a head count that's 100% Damn the adrenaline is gone and I'm colder than hell now. I'd love to jump with the new T-11. I was using 10B, 10C and the Crash 1B
What are those blue tubes?
Simulation mortar rounds.
Are the 173rd part of the 82nd ? I am in UK and thought the 101st and 82nd were the US paras?
I think I've asked this before.
173rd is a separate brigade located in Italy, it functions as quick response forces in Europe and Africa. 101 Haven't jumped for decades, now they are an air assault division, they do weird helicopter stuff.
Is this training?
Manuel Dodson yes
Everybody gangster till you have to repack the chute
Airborne. ❤️❤️❤️
Buddy at the end looks like he got picked for shoot shake out 😂😂
Only a paratrooper knows that feeling!
I have taken off in many C130’s and C141’s Never landed in one.
Airborne 2 - And C - 123's, C - 7A' s
Lol.....That is so true!!
How does one get into airborne? Shipping out to Fort Jackson in June for BCT.
My son had it in his contract when he enlisted. He's graduating Airborne this week! He did his BCT at Fort Jackson, too!
Riggers get airborne straight from the contract, unless you’re a rigger you gotta get on a waiting list
Try to go to Bragg you will for sure be airborne
Maybe a dumb question. What are the blue tubes at the end of the video??
Mortar rounds
Blue color containers are simulated mortar rounds of the same actual weight as live rounds.
Special "beetle helmet" was first created for der Deutsche Fallschimjager...parachute hunter...
The first shot looked like me and the bois playing army o the playground in kindergarten
Walk all damn night with periodic rests that involve taking a knee occasionally. Getting slapped in the face by limbs the guy in front of you lets flip back as he moves past.
Good times

The only reason id go army is to be army airborne.
USMC Proud I’m a Marine and went through Army Airborne school at Fort Benning as a Private. Such a great experience!
@@arnulfobanda1398 I bet it was. Jumping out of a plane is pretty badass. Force recon also does it, but damn.
Lmao air assault? Sapper? Ranger? Sf? Cav badges? There are a lot of good tabs out there
@@stone65037 air assault(dopes on a rope) is cool, Sappers(who?) are interesting, rangers(the marines are clearing the path for us to lead the way!) all though cool, we marines go in before them, special forces(rambo) primary mission is to train guerrillas, and cav scouts are okay. But the Army just wasn't how it was 20 years ago. The army nowadays has to much "snowflake ness"
USMC Proud I’m army and I’m definitely not a snow flake and if I could I’d want to be in combat to earn my cib and shit. And depending on the mission priority is when you go before us or not. Rangers usually go in after seals I believe I haven’t been taught much about them
