Thank you so much for this. Ultraviolet is my favorite U2 song. That solo in the beginning gives me goosebumps every time. By the way, happy birthday to Bono!
Thanks. Part of the fun of this whole process for me is listening closely for those little details in the original recordings that are easy to miss in the larger context of the mix.
Great job. Crystal clear and high sound quality. A straight like to your video. You can do this song as many version you want and we will still watch it.
I’m excited to see your covers are back! Appreciate all the time and effort that goes in to you sharing this with us! This is one of those nostalgic song markers for me. Brings me back to college when I’d blast this song on my drive back to campus.
Oh Sometimes I feel like I don't know Sometimes I feel like checkin' out I want to get it wrong Can't always be strong And love it won't be long Oh sugar, don't you cry Oh child, wipe the tears from your eyes You know I need you to be strong And the day is as dark as the night is long Feel like trash, you make me feel clean I'm in the black, can't see or be seen Baby, baby, baby, light my way Alright now Baby, baby, baby, light my way You bury your treasure Where it can't be found But your love is like a secret That's been passed around There is a silence that comes to a house Where no one can sleep I guess it's the price of love I know it's not cheap Oh, come on Baby, baby, baby, light my way Oh, come on Baby, baby, baby, light my way Oh, ultraviolet (oh) Ultraviolet (oh) Ultraviolet (oh) Ultraviolet Baby, baby, baby, light my way I remember When we could sleep on stones Now we lie together In whispers and moans When I was all messed up And I had opera in my head Your love was a light bulb Hanging over my bed Baby, baby, baby, light my way Oh, come on, Baby, baby, baby, light my way Oh, ultraviolet Ultraviolet Ultraviolet Ultraviolet Baby, baby, baby Baby, baby, baby Baby, baby, baby, light my way Baby, baby, baby Baby, baby, baby Baby, baby, baby, light my way Baby, baby, baby Baby, baby, baby, light my way Baby, baby, baby, light my way
"Sometimes I feel like I don't know.....sometimes I feel like checking out....I wanna get it wrong...can't always be strong...and love it wont be long.." you are awesome!!!
Hi Steph, I love your videos and was wondering what effects pedals you are using? PS I'm so jealous you got to jam with the band I love the way they do that.
Thanks to you, it's great, I suspect that there is a lot of work behind it all and it pays off! Well done Steph. its gives me the courage to work even more with the guiare ... my next an explorer (Google translation)
I was looking for U2 backing tracks for playing over with a friend on Jamulus, and wow! Your videos are really cool ! :) Very good job on the U2 sound !! Are you in a band? Are
The closeup of hand/finger positioning for the solo is most helpful. I'd given up on The Edge's hand placement for the ZooTV solo between frets 7 and 9 and worked out my own between frets 4 and 7 on the E and B strings until I saw this--and now I've got it. Thanks!
Glad to help. One tip I can give for Edge's solos and riffs is that if the way you're playing it feels too awkward and you can't find any clear concert footage of his finger placement on the solo or riff you're trying to play, try thinking about the notes as a chord shape. A lot of his solos and riffs are essentially arpeggiated chords with very small shifts in finger placement -- usually the pinky finger and ring finger. If you're moving around too much on the fretboard, you're probably doing it wrong (with the exception of his more traditional solos, like Until the End of the World, New Year's Day, etc). Edge also typically sticks to the middle and upper end of the fretboard for solos and riffs.
when i bought the album when it was released in 1991 it was a slap in the face for all the fans and today it is a monument of music. I am a fan of what you do and in a few words of French: j'adore... stephany = stephanie
Thanks. I learn by ear and by watching U2 concert videos. I don't list my exact settings here because unless you have the exact same gear I have (right down to the guitar pickups), it's always going to sound different on your end. My approach to trying to get as close as I can to Edge's sound is to try to emulate the basics of what is commonly known about his standard setup using the limitations of my own gear, knowing that I'll never be able to fully replicate it. Here's how I'm doing things lately since I upgraded from a POD HD500 to Helix Stomp/Native: I sketch out basic tones with my Helix Stomp (which has limited pathing capabilities) for the live tracking, and then I tweak the dry signal in Helix Native (which allows for dual amp setups/more complex chains) on my DAW once the recording is complete. I use two AC30 Helix models in Native panned hard left and hard right (main one is brighter with a little bit of drive, secondary one is set up a little more bass heavy), which I run through a blended York Audio AC30 impulse response. Line 6 doesn't have a Korg SDD 3000 preamp model in its Helix units, but it does have the "Kinky Boost" model, which is based on the Xotic EP Booster, which is itself based on the EP-3 Echoplex preamp. Like the SDD 3000 preamp, the EP-3 preamp can give your tone a little extra grit and warmth, and it pairs nicely with AC30s that are set just on the edge of breakup. It's not an identical sound, but it's similar enough. I place it either in front of the amp models, or between the amps and cabs for a slightly smoother sound. I really hope Line 6 adds a SDD 3000 preamp model in future to Helix, as it really is such an important part of The Edge's sound. Great video on the subject here: ruclips.net/video/LFWfLSTzwv4/видео.html As for the delay, I don't really like any of the modulated delays on the Helix (besides the Memory Man model), so I've been experimenting with different standalone delays. I used a trial version of the TC Electronics 2290 VST on this recording. I really like it, and may buy it, even though it's a bit pricey. Considering that the physical rack version of the 2290 would set you back thousands, $199 USD isn't so bad. :)
Woow what a good cover, you are very good and a very complete artist. but should you allow us to see your face, or do you fear that your beauty will somehow overshadow your great gift as an artist?
U2 is missing a 5th member.
Thank you so much for this. Ultraviolet is my favorite U2 song. That solo in the beginning gives me goosebumps every time. By the way, happy birthday to Bono!
Beautiful cover, love the Zoo TV version and the added guitar overdubs.
Yep my fave U2 song....deep and very soulful. Kudos.
Yet another fantastic cover Stef, your attention to detail is much admired.
Thanks. Part of the fun of this whole process for me is listening closely for those little details in the original recordings that are easy to miss in the larger context of the mix.
Excellent cover! And of my favorite version to hear and to play.
Great job as usual! also we are still waiting for kite cover!
so glad you are playing the zoo tv version and not the garbage version they play now.
Great job. Crystal clear and high sound quality. A straight like to your video. You can do this song as many version you want and we will still watch it.
Zoo TV version is the best! Excellent effort! That simple solo adds so much.
Quel plaisir de t'écouter Steph ! 🤗
Great cover as usual. The Edge needs to see your channel.
I’m excited to see your covers are back! Appreciate all the time and effort that goes in to you sharing this with us! This is one of those nostalgic song markers for me. Brings me back to college when I’d blast this song on my drive back to campus.
Love your covers. Excellent backing tracks.
I love this song. Beautiful bass-guitar duo. Bravo Stéphanie!
You’re amazing, Steph. I just don’t care for this song as much as most all of the other U2 songs you cover. Keep up the good work.
Ultraviolet es magica. Me ha acompañado en los mejores momentos
Lo mismo digo... Desde 1991 siempre me ha acompañado!
Again, I keep coming back to your channel and I amazed every time I do. Re listening I love it.

Killer as usual! Might you consider having guest vocalist in future videos?
Oh
Sometimes I feel like I don't know
Sometimes I feel like checkin' out
I want to get it wrong
Can't always be strong
And love it won't be long
Oh sugar, don't you cry
Oh child, wipe the tears from your eyes
You know I need you to be strong
And the day is as dark as the night is long
Feel like trash, you make me feel clean
I'm in the black, can't see or be seen
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Alright now
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
You bury your treasure
Where it can't be found
But your love is like a secret
That's been passed around
There is a silence that comes to a house
Where no one can sleep
I guess it's the price of love
I know it's not cheap
Oh, come on
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Oh, come on
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Oh, ultraviolet (oh)
Ultraviolet (oh)
Ultraviolet (oh)
Ultraviolet
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
I remember
When we could sleep on stones
Now we lie together
In whispers and moans
When I was all messed up
And I had opera in my head
Your love was a light bulb
Hanging over my bed
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Oh, come on,
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Oh, ultraviolet
Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, light my way
Baby, baby, baby, light my way

My weekly dose of incredible playing :)
Hi Steph, I love your videos and was wondering what effects pedals you are using? PS I'm so jealous you got to jam with the band I love the way they do that.
Subscribed. Amazing work.
Well done!
Steph you should most definitely be in a band. Your creativity and ear for great music 🎶 is plain to see.. Subscribed.
相変わらずお上手です👍

@@StephVanLinden That’s really helpful.
@@StephVanLinden Thus far I’ve concluded that if there’s simpler way of doing something, that’s usually what The Edge opts for.
All in the key of E nice. I was thinking while watching this edge has huge responsibility when he plays live
❤❤❤ wonderful cover greetings from chile
Bellissima versione. Brava. Ciao da Milano!
Very good! I like it a lot! Keep up the good work! Next up Beautiful day or The Three Sunrises maybe :)

Good play and good tee !
Una de mis favoritas canciones😮
Oh sugar, vielen vielen Dank! You light my way!
Brilliant cover 👍🏻
Sensacional !!!!!!!
Great Job Sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Bravo! 👍
Fantastic. This is something for Edge to watch, their current versions are far poorer. As for most of their songs, the Zoo TV versions beat them all.
when i bought the album when it was released in 1991 it was a slap in the face for all the fans and today it is a monument of music. I am a fan of what you do and in a few words of French: j'adore... stephany = stephanie
Great stuff
Ultraviolet (light my way) thankyou ,
Love is blindness next pls❤
Wonderful
So good! I've been practicing the shit out of this song! (360 version, on a tele because I don't own an Explorer!)
Love your videos. Do you list the settings? How do you get the edge sound? How do you learn the songs?
