      I have 1 more observation @ 22:28 You point out how the plane is depressurized and sarcastically act like its actually because of a flock of birds... But thanks for also confirming that you were being "sarcastic" which is a smart way of being funny. "If" a gullible person followed your words literally, they MIGHT think you sometimes support Russia or defend their point of view of propaganda, but 9/10 you are actually being sarcastic and just roleplaying the other side of the fence to exaggerate how bad it is... You said " Im absolutely SURE, and Im being SARCASTIC right now, thats how the plane's fuselage looks like when a bird hits it "
      Ive noticed that many other ex-Russian vlogers are very sarcastic without confirming they are trying to be funny. Like @ NFKRZ

    I watched another video of this crash from the ground and it appeared that the pilots were doing their best to fly a plane that had a serious problem. Now we know. Those pilots did an amazing job and should be considered hero's. They fought for control till the end.

  • @michaelrocereta5069

    I am a pilot, let me add the following: Before incident began this aircraft was sending a return radar signal identifying it as a friendly scheduled commercial flight. Assuming it was hit by an anti-aircraft missile, the radar operator and launch control team who fired the missile either failed to see the radar return indicating it was a friendly aircraft or ignored it. After the plane was hit the pilots appear to have lost either elevator control or rudder control or both. They deployed the landing gear which helped slow the aircraft considerably. They appeared to be using the engine power to control the heading of the aircraft similar to the much-publicized United Airlines crash in Sioux City many years ago. The loss of control in the final moments of the flight suggest limited aileron control or rapid loss of airspeed (stall) but for now this is all speculation on my part. Modern flight recorders will provide all the details necessary to understand the controllability issues. In addition, the cockpit voice recorder should enlighten us further. The figure eight flight path just before the crash was meant to either provide more time to descend to a safe final descent altitude or more time to prepare for the emergency landing (perhaps dump some of the fuel). I think it was likely intentional once they felt they were close enough to attempt an emergency landing. I agree with your assessment that the pilots were heroes. It appears they flew the plane and maintained control for as long as they could.

      Thanks for the explanation. It's great to hear professional pilots's opinion.
      Please, I have a question for you that baffles me everytime there is a plane crash. Why there are no live cctv's in the airplanes? Cctv's are in every train or metro, why not airplanes? A lot of crashes would be explained immidiately if there was a camera in the pilots and passamger's cabine..

      It definitely lost all hydraulics; in the still photos from that final 45-degree bank you can see that none of the control surfaces are deployed, and flaps are fully retracted. It's a nasty catch-22, and what doomed UA 232 - to slow down enough for a safe landing you need flaps/slats extended, otherwise you stall .... so when you only have engine power, you have to balance airspeed against stalling, and carefully ride that line. And of course, each wing stalls differently.
      With altitude you have space to recover when you unbalance, right over the ground ... not so much. They dug a wingtip and that was it. It's really quite stunning that the rear half of the pane stayed intact and those folks survived.
      The pilots truly are the heroes of this event.

    That plane crashed from lost of hydraulic power due to lost of hydraulic fluid. The lost of fluid will be found out to be damage from shrapnel flying through the aircraft and damaging flight components rendering them inoperable. The reason the landing gear is down is because that can gravity drop without hydraulics. The aircraft was shot down. This is my personal opinion as a retired airframe and powerplant mechanic for over 35 years.

    Birds take out plane turbine engines but a bird or even 500 birds will not take down most commercial planes. How do I know this? I dated a girl who worked for an Airplane body factory in the US and they made the Wing assembly, bodies, windows and windshields for commercial planes and she had the best job EVER, shooting frozen whole chickens and frozen whole Turkeys at plane parts to test for tolerances. If it can handle 10 shots of a frozen turkey being shot out of a canon then it passed. I thought she was lying at first then I went to meet her up one day for a dinner date after work and she showed me around and I watched her shoot a wing assembly with frozen chickens. They just bounced off the pressure she was shooting them at would have blown a human being into sludge, but the plane could take it. Planes are basically bullet proof up to about 50 caliber and the windshield and windows have a even higher tolerance than the metal body.

      @joesalyers 16 дней назад +2

      @@herbb8547 True, the engines are very important, but I was explaining how they test against birds and that birds didn't cause the damage you can see on the plane after the crash. Bird beaks don't make bullet shaped holes. Also planes are tested with high velocity projectiles to stop a flock of birds from taking down a plane and have been since the 1950s. But the other major problem with high altitude planes is that if a plane is struck by an object that causes the depressurizing of a plane then under the right circumstances it could cause some people to have a stroke or heart attack instantly because of changes in their blood pressure. If you ever had your blood pressure taken the feeling when they pump up the pressure cuff happens during very fast depressurization. So if a plane gets a hole in it your entire body would instantly be squeezed just like the cuff including your organs, like the heart and brain. So depending on the size of the plane and altitude it could be for 40-90 seconds or up to 3 minutes and then instantly (not slowly) the pressure is released. The release can cause massive heart attacks and blood clots to move causing strokes. This is why oxygen masks are there to replenish the blood in your lungs faster in low oxygen environments at higher altitudes. I would bet at least 2 of the people who died in this plane died before it ever hit the ground from heart attacks due to the cabin becoming depressurized and their heart couldn't take the pressure.

      @herbb8547 16 дней назад

      @joesalyers Bird at airports are a problem though. The most dangerous times are taking off and landing and that is usually when a bird collision will happen. That said, I agree that birds cannot do the type of damage that occurred to this particular plane. That could only be caused by an explosive device spreading some sort shrapnel.

  • @Kgt2700

    That figure 8 pattern was likely that heroic pilot attempting to burn off fuel before the crash. Along with fervent prayers likely taking place at the time, the pilot's efforts to shed as much fuel as possible could be why there are any survivors at all.

    • @raevj
      @raevj 18 дней назад +1

      Pilots think it was very hard to control bc the lost all 3 hydraulic systems on the plane to steer the plane, so they tried another approach. Your idea might be plausible too.

    • @zodiacdriver3852
      @zodiacdriver3852 17 дней назад +1

      This figure 8 pattern was no attempt to burn off fuel - keep in mind, that they already attempted 3 landings in and around Grozny and then travelled another unplanned 300+ miles, i.e. they must have been already at their final, final fuel reserve, which is supported by the lack of fire at the crash site (the explosion upon impact is most probably remaining fuel and fuel vapours in the tanks going up in flames). If we consider, that the pilots had to make course corrections just with differential thrust, it seems, that their first attempt to line up with the runway at Atau airport out of a left turn failed and they decided to give it a try with a right turn - shortest way back to runway centerline. But given to be already at slow speed with gear down, it is extremely difficult to get a dropped wing level again without having ailerons but just engine thrust. In the videos all over the internet we can see, that the plane came down with the righthand wing dropped at about 45 degrees and the nose also dropped significantly, but that shortly before impact the nose was raised - maybe the pilots tried to pick up speed again in a last ditch maneuver for regaining control, eventually the engines already had flamed out due to fuel starvation... we will see...

    The E190 is a fly-by-wire airplane meaning all flightcontrols are electro-hydraulic activated. By firing a fragmentation missile at that airctaft, all three hydraulic systems may have been damaged resulting in failure of directional steering and altitude corrections. The pilots had one option left and that is flying by only adjusting powersetting on the engines. That may explain the flightpath it followed.
    We from the Netherlands have the horribly faith of flight MH17 still clear in our memory. It is a harsh reality that Russians now have 2 (two) attacks on innocent civilian aircraft on their record. What a bloody shame. Intentionally or by stupidity, a bloody shame.

Satellites proved the transference of the equipment from Russia, as well as identifying the Russian officer who was responsible for the firing. Russia refused to hand him over to the west.
