This goes on and on......... I have a 7 figure ballpark goal and I intend spreading across maybe 50k - 150k on plummeting stocks, my question is how can I know when a market bottom has been reached?

The main focus for markets now is Nvidia, which has powered a large chunk of the S&P 500’s recent earnings. Nvidia’s stock, up more than 90% this year, rose 2.5% in New York on Monday, sending the Nasdaq 100 index to another record high. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas.

From my observation and historical market pattern, there might be a bit of turbulence in the market coming up, but here's the deal: Trying to guess what's going to happen next is less important than spreading your bets when trading and thinking long term. Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

    What "saved" us in 2008/2009?!?
    1) QE
    2) Fiscal deficits
    3) Zero interest rates.
It was NO great recession. It was a DEPRESSION.
What is delaying what Harry Dent is calling for?!?
    1) Massive debt buying by central banks and the like
    2) Countries running Fiscal deficits
    3) Countries with ZERO (or negative) interest rates.
So, of course, things "looked" good.
    Anyone reading this ....
Do you honestly think the world central banks go back to ZERO interest rates and MASSIVE QE, all the while with countries passing MASSIVE fiscal deficits?!?
If you said yes, then Harry Dent is wrong. If you said no, then Harry Dent is right.
BTW ... if you said yes, expect starter homes to cost $750,000, cars to inflate by 65%, food costs to soar.

Mostly Illegal immigrants minimum wage jobs and people driving Uber to make end meets OR people working 3 side geeks because they lost their actual carrier jobs.

My colleagues(coin dealers) were irate with me for discussing the subject. The price advances in 2010 and 2011 were parabolic so it was really easy for me to decide. The problem was that nobody else could see it at the time.

One advantage of this space is the ability to buy during dips and actively trade, generating profits while awaiting inevitable price increases. Many people lack a deep understanding of how this market operates. Charts cannot predict asset movements with certainty; prices fluctuate up and down. Despite this volatility, the market remains profitable.... I have managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 732k in the space of a few months... The deflation and bust is not the scary part. It’s the cure, not the problem. That’s basic Austrian Economics. What really worries me is inept government and FED officials and how they will react to this situation. I think it will be by unlimited QE and fiscal stimulus in a desperate attempt to jump start the economy and money velocity. This will cause hyperinflation in the long run and devastate our country due to the loss of purchasing power and the loss of the reserve currency status 😢

Dent has been on every show for the last decade calling for a crash. Eventually, he will be right, but why can someone be wrong for so long and still be considered credible? Dent’s misses:
1999: Predicted a roaring 2000s with a Dow at 35,000. Reality: Dow peaked at 12,000 and the decade was a bust.
2006: Touted “The Next Great Bubble Boom.” Investors enjoyed a short run before the 2008 financial crisis.
2009: Published “The Great Depression Ahead” after the market bottomed. Missed the subsequent bull run.
2017: Predicted Dow at 3000-5000 after Trump’s election. Dow currently 7-12x higher.
2021: Called a -45% crash by June, then doubled down with an -80% by Thanksgiving. Market hit new highs.
2022: Finally hit a single with a -35% downturn, but missed the year-end rally.
2023: Doubled down on recession and another “big wave down.” Bitcoin rallied 200%, S&P 500 up 20%.

Read this guy's book called the demographic cliff ten years ago and he's been making money by screaming that the sky is falling ever since. The last interview I could stand to watch was early 2023 when he said that if the bubble hadn't burst by the end of the year, he would quit his job as a doomsday economist since he obviously didn't understand what was really going on. Yet, here he is - still at it. I do think he could very well be correct, but it's just hard to know there are guys like this out there with the same message on repeat for decades, and when it finally happens, they say I told you so. If he believes what he's preaching, he couldn't have grown his portfolio much over the years and has missed out on some serious profits. One bad day on the stock market after a long stretch of gains, and the internet comes alive with the doomsday prophets. I'm betting we have one more big leg up before a crash towards the end of the year, but my guess is as good as this guy's. Harry makes a good point regarding demographics. A declining birth rate means less spending in the economy in that families with children spend more and societies spend more on activities and schooling for children. Granted an aging population puts demand on health care services and retirement services, but it is a naturally declining growth compared to the future growth that children bring to a society. It is no accident that the West is compensating for this with mass migration, but the quality of growth is not the same as a natural birth rate, both on an economic and social integration level. Immigration as a quick fix to an economic problem due to demographic decline only puts pressure on a society's infrastructure and social cohesion, not to mention putting additional challenges on immigrants trying to adapt and integrate into a new society.

There's only one major flaw with Harry's argument. If everything is in a bubble, then there is NO bubble. Instead there is only debasement in all fiat currencies that show the value of the "bubble". A bubble needs to be relative to everything else that isn't in a bubble that it then has the potential to correct spectacularly.

This is a great point I've never heard anyone make. Maloney calls it "everything except PM bubble", so that's valid. I guess Harry's argument should really be "everything except treasuries bubble", which seems *invalid* if you look at a 50-year chart of yields. I follow the market sniper who correctly predicted the treasury turn-around. He insists inflation is here to stay and the existing debt (ie treasuries) has to be devalued. They may indeed lower rates, but who (except the FED and Harry) will buy treasuries if inflation keeps rising? Never mind civil war, world war, and zombie-presidents? I'm f*!cked if I'm going to invest in the US government.
