😂😂😂😂😂 I love preparing soil. My grandkids saw me doing it one day and ask me why was I playing with dirt if they couldn’t do it. 😂😂😂 Now I tell them Mamma is going to play with dirt, want to come? 😂😂😂😂
My niece loves it too. She also loves hunting bugs with me.
I love my GreenStalk. One of the best things I done in the garden
They are so great. I love having all the extra planting spots
Great video, thank you. Greetings from Leesburg FL.
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy gardening from Florida.
I get the Pro Mix in the pink bag from Walmart. To help offset the cost, I add coco coir, perlite, and compost to it. I planted strawberries in my greenstalk a few months ago with that mix, so far so good. Ive had a terrible time with strawberries, they all just die. The last ones I planted I tried to be very careful not overwatering, since the ones previous had all rotted.
The first time I had success with strawberries was once I started using Promix and moisture meter. I’ve been using that same method this year and it’s working well.
I have three GreenStalks, a leaf tower and two standard towers. The leaf tower is planted with Seascape strawberry plants. The other two towers are pepper towers. I completely plant the top two tiers with shorter pepper plants, Sweet Banana, Lunchbox Orange, Hungarian Yellow Wax, and Cubanelle. The lower three tiers are planted every other pocket with Big Red bell peppers, Lipstick, and Corona di Toro. The empty pockets are filled with lettuce and endive. All three towers are on spinner bases. Using the spinner bases, I find it easier, and better for the plants, to water the individual pockets, and not use the reservoir.
That's a really creative way to use your towers!
They just had a sale for the spinner base with wheels for $39. They are normally $60. I had to get 3 at that price lol
The first time I put a Greenstalk together, I stacked all those heavy tiers together then realized I forgot to put in the watering disks lol! Had to get them all down and redo it. Im kinda short too. What a pain.
That is a great deal!
I stack mine in 4's, too! Love my Greenstalks!
Thanks for sharing! I found out that when I put my lettuce and edible greens at the bottoms of my green stalks that animals eat them (rabbits, groundhogs).
My dogs steal the strawberries on the bottom tier of one of mine 😂
Wonderful video. Very entertaining.😊
Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
I refilled my green stalk yesterday. I use "Mels Mix". My husband found the recipe online somewhere. It has worked well for us. I just bought 6 of the little "greenhouse " window things that they just started selling. So, i probably could have started earlier with the seeds. Now it's so hot that my broccoli is trying to bolt abd my cabbage hasn't formed good heads at all😢 i really hope we have at least one more cold front ...N E Florida here 👋 TFS
I can’t believe how hot it has gotten in such a short time. I’ve got my fingers crossed for one final cold front too.
I stack mine sometimes even with just 3 layers. I’m 5’ tall so that is what works for me! Then it feels like you have more GreenStalks 😂😂
I do that sometimes too, lol.
Great video!! I need to buy a Greenstalk one day.
They really do make starting everything so much easier!
I’ve got salanova seedlings growing under grow lights. First time with these. Can’t wait to taste it!
They are my absolute favorite. So good. I hope you enjoy them
I enjoyed watching your Greenstalk video especially since I will be redoing my Greenstalks soon. I would love more information about the fertilizer you mentioned in your video.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I will have a whole video on my favorite fertilizers next week! Stay tuned
Hey, I'm still working on your seeds, I'm sorry its taken me longer. Seeds with "Our Global Situations" Are Insane!!! I buy the pink bags online at Walmart. I think they are $14.99 but anything over 35- is free shipping. There is a lot of soil in those bags. I've looked at the 20 day outlook...of gheeze I'm nervous, looks warm forever...I get all gitty and whammmm... hard freeze! This last freeze we just had, I lost my Lila Avocado (for Cold to 15 degrees) the tree is black. I'm a long time gardener And I've never seen this before. But her partner...Joey ( they recommend Joey and Lila A&B )Joey is perfect. Home Depot had Tomatoes and other veggies today 4 for $10. I Just Love to Dig!
It is so scary with these crazy weather patterns! Everything is out of wack
What a lovely plants 🪴

My friend thank you for good sharing
Have a great day
I am only 5 ft tall so I do the same thing with only 4 tiers on my greenstalks.
Short women problems 😂
I’m not short, I’m normal height, everyone else is abnormally tall.
@@karenuber5500😂 Love that perspective
I make my own soil with compost, perlite, petmoss for everything.
That’s a great option too
😊
Im waiting for the mothers day sale to get my green stalk!
They always have great sales for mothers day
I have 4 GreenStalks - 3 Originals and 1 Leaf - and I really enjoy gardening in them. I'll have to try your idea of only 2 bean seeds instead of 3 to see if that helps me too.
Let me know how it goes. Mine have always been a little stressed with the 3 so hopefully this fixes it.
I think Ill add another Greenstalk this year during one of their sales. Do you think strawberries do better in the deeper pockets, or the new shallower ones?
I like the shallow one better for strawberries. Their roots are very small.
I love my green stalks.
Do you change or add to your soil every year?
It’s been three years and I’ve just been amending without dumping it all out.
It’s working, but I’m probably overdue for a total make over.
Blessings!
It’s not really necessary but I usually have to downsize before our big RV trip so it’s become a yearly thing for me.
Who is your doggie, he or she is so cute! Im trying a greenstalk for the first time this year!❤
That’s Bella! She’s my little garden helper. Good luck with your new Greenstalk
Do you use a composter? If so, which one or do you do a compost bin?
I have compost tumblers that I use. I have a playlist on compost if you want to check that out
I use foxfarm in my greenstalks.I dump it out every now and again.I just refresh it each time. I'm still hunting for the promix in my area.I have seen it before, but as soon I want to buy some, I can't find it. YET! 😅 I interchange mine also.
It is hard to find sometimes but it’s worth the search!
@HomegrownFloridaZ9a 😊
Not a fan of green stalks. I tried but I couldn’t grow much in them
I actually did a video on some of the tricks I did to be able to have success with mine here in Florida. If you still have yours, check it out.
Before watching this video definitely not possible to start in a day😂. Ifykyk
