I will never forget the first time I went to Israel; I flew El Al Airlines. As the Promised Land came into sight, tears started flowing down my face. I wasn’t the only one. When the plane touched down, a roaring applause erupted along with prayers of thanksgiving. And yes, I was one of the passengers that kissed the ground when we de boarded. That was in 1979, when I made my pilgrimage. I had just graduated from high school and spent my summer, before starting at university, volunteering on a kibbutz. It changed my life. My culture, spirituality and religion became one, during that time. Daily, I still am learning more. G-d bless Israel. Shabbat Shalom!✡️🕎🇮🇱
