I love the fact that the Pope tweets in Latin. Like, are there official 'Pope tweet translation' accounts in different languages to supplement it or do us poor lay people just have to guess what it says? (just like the good old Middle Age Church, lol)
does the pope writes actually in latin or this is a bible quote? (and if he does, is it good latin?) because the one you put reminded me of a verse in Psalms...
Vinde Espírito Santo !! Enchei os corações de vossos fieis. Ascendei neles o fogo de vosso amor....Vinde Espírito Santo !! Sede nossa força e entendimento !! O Sangue e o Nome do Senhor Jesus Cristo, tem Poder !! Gracas e louvores vos damos Senhor !! Amém !!
If Pontifex Maximus is the Latin name, it was given by the king of Pergamon which was Greek-speaking right? What was the Greek equivalent name then? or the Babylonian? since it originated from Babylon?
I’m not so sure I understand your question. The pontifex itself doesn’t have anything to do with the Greek or Babylonian east. The second king of Rome, Numa Pompilius, supposedly established the office in the late 8th/early 7th century BC.
@@latintutorial From what I learned is that the Babylonian priesthood/magi were exiled from Babylon to Pergamon, but after Attalus III they moved to Rome along with the title Pontifex Maximus. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attalus_III
a pontiff is a babylonian priest of the ancient mystery religion. Thats all you need to understand except for maybe the pilgramage of the pontifical priesthood from babylon, to pergamum and then to rome.
I love your voice-crystal clear!
Thanks!

Yes, his different twitter accounts are different variations of @Pontifex(e.g.,@Pontifex_es for Spanish,@Pontifex_it for Italian).
This kind of medal is available for selling?if ever how much?

Yes, he (or whoever tweets for him) writes in pretty good Latin. The Vatican employs a Latinist in charge of making sure the pope's Latin is correct.
Oh boy! The questions we read on here!

Attalus III is way too late for this. The Pontifex Maximus was established well before his rule in the 2nd century BC.
