LMFAO! Sting is so good at anything he does. He has recreated himself time and time again and has always been fantastic. Even if he's never been the most technical wrestler in the ring, he can still put on great matches, and his ability to play characters is second to none. He's STILL doing great work now in AEW. That's insane for his age.

Joker Sting was so freaking awesome!!! Steve Borden could pull off just about anything they asked him to do. Here he takes on bits of Jim Carrey, Heath Ledger, Frank Gorshin, and his own late 80's early 90's Sting persona - and he is both HILARIOUS and menacing at the same time. Honestly, Joker Sting may be my all time favorite in persona performance by ANY wrestler at ANY time.

They ONLY remember him as the Crow, not even the surfer, just the Crow, because most did not even know who he was until the Monday Night wars
Joker Sting was iconic, it was great seeing his character evolve and he did a great job.
The same reason people didn't like biker taker. It wasn't his best gimmick but if you compare joker Sting and biker Taker to professional wrestling gimmicks in general instead of the Crow and the Lord of Darkness they're still two of the best gimmicks in professional wrestling.

I went to see TNA 4 years ago, the entire place was quiet.........until......stings music hit, then the roof came off the place, and rightfully so. He is in the top 5 of all time, and for him to still be relevant now at age 56, especially in that good a shape, he's a credit to wrestling/sport entertainment really - given most wrestlers age terribly.

Man I don't get why so many people had issues with this Sting gimmick. Sting was fuckin great at it. He's got a great sense of humor. He looked both crazy and pimp in that red suit and those J's. Karen Angle : " You're crazy..." Sting: " Thank you Karen. " LMAO
+igotjokezfoo Because it was a blatant rip off of Heath Ledgers Joker. Sure, it was not a direct rip off but it definitely originated from that. Sting got flack for this because the theory about him ripping off the Crow gimmick was made out to be true when he did this. His character gets a little stale and then he changes it to something he sees in a cool movie, it just so happens that he takes the gimmick from movies where the actor dies shortly after or even during the movie. I like Sting, and he was funny here, but it does not change the fact that he totally ripped off the Joker.
Sean Olson Sorry, but I don't think it's a blatant rip off of any ONE thing. Sure there are aspects of various incarnations of the Joker. And they definitely emulated the Ledger style facepaint. But I've also heard comparisons to Jim Carrey as well..which is accurate. Everybody gets inspiration and ideas from somewhere. Ledger himself took from Tom Waits and James Dean for his Joker. Hulk Hogan blatantly ripped off Superstar Billy Graham. The Rock channelled many personalities, including "The King" Elvis of all people. Sting over the years has done the same. Taking his natural charisma, and mixing it with the likes of : Hawk and Animal from the Road warriors, Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice, Ledger and Nicholson's Joker incarnations, and Jim Carrey's Ace Ventura/The Mask.
+Sean Olson The thing is, there's copying an image and then there's completely embodying it. What Sting did so amazingly with 'The Joker' persona is that he made it his own, you can go back to the 80's stinger and see that this Sting then and there in his intense promos and overpowering energy and charisma. To truly know how amazingly appropriate 'The Joker' image is for Sting, you have to have been a fan of his through at least three generations of Sting. This was amazing.
+igotjokezfoo , you are right. The reason why there are people like +Sean Olson getting all their boxers in a twist is the fact that Sting's ability to sell is so high up there. That is why he is seen as up there with Undertaker, as they took gimmicks that others never could sell and made them their own.
