Amazing. Native Rochesterian here. In fact, in the late 1980s, I got hired by their country sister station. You can imagine my complete heartache when I looked through the doorway to WBBF and saw reel-to-reel decks and a couple of cart carousels. I grew up listening to 'BBF, and so did my late dad. I got shown the "corporate" door in 1990, but I'd still do it again.
Wow, I didn't know Jerry Fogel was also a radio broadcaster. He certainly had a fantastic radio voice, very smooth, very resonant. Jack of all trades it would seem! Funny, but when "Shop Around" came on (16:52,) I honestly thought it was Jerry singing over the record for the first few seconds - as it turns out, Smokey starts singing from a much lower tone than his usual style, so I guess that threw me off a bit.
The Mother's-In-Law! I loved seeing those reruns when I was a kid! Kaye Ballard and Eve "Our Miss Brooks" Arden had great chemistry! @2:22 "left their LOOT behind"?!?!?! Sounds like amateurs, probably no older than 19-20yrs! @5:40 is that Marlo Thomas?!?!?! Are you smoking more but enjoying it less? Here's a tip, STOP! 😉 13:03 "Come on in the music is great"!
...yes, that's the beautiful Marlo Thomas. The episode had Jerry as the host of a game show Ann was appearing on and comically realizing how little she knew about her neighbors...
I feel like I'm listening to my former vintage tube, Hallicrafters Shortwave Radio. 😊 Atmospheric conditions must be just right tonight!

@@markjamesmeli2520 I worked at WBBF-FM & WBEE about 30 years ago. I had a ball! WBBF AM in 1995… still run by computer!
Wow from 1961. Amazing
Very interesting air check...including the Camel ad
My hometown station! Jack Palvino hired me to work as a board op at WVOR-FM..

At 9:17 loved the "Camel" cigarette commercial. My Dad smoked "Camel" non filted cigarettes 🚬 .
Fun fact: Jerry's son, Dave does mornings at WLS-FM in Chicago.
@@JeffroRadio Didn’t know that!
Robbers stealing cigarettes and candy. Aim high, fellas!
That's right!
