That second to the last story? I had something similar happen back in 1989 in my late teens. I worked for Hardee's at the time and was going in for my afternoon shift. The police stopped me and made me turn around about 2 miles outside of town because a guy named John Hubbard had planted bombs under every bridge on every highway and road leading into town. When I finally was allowed into town my boss had me check the parking lot for any "suspicious" looking bags in the lot. Apparently Hubbard had also planted bags of dynamite around town too by the county courthouse and some law offices. Look up "Man Guilty of Planting 13 Bombs in Indiana City" sometime. The only reason the town (Salem, Indiana) is still here is because something about his triggering mechanisms didn't work if I remember right.
Here's my true scary story: Im a 58 year old male, but this happened furing my teen years. Having obtained my first job at Burger King, I worked the morning shift. One morning, as i was driving to work, at about 4:30 in the morning when my headlights came upon a figure lying in the middle of the road! I slowly, and cautiously, approached. I nudged the figure and said, " Are you ok?" It turned out to be a woman. She slowly got up and slowly ealked sway and disappeared into the night! This is a true story!

I am hoping the trucker in the first story was not a Serial killer - but, in fact, a genuinely caring older individual; trying to teach a naive young woman a pretty scary, but fairly important, life lesson…. So that she (& her friends / family that she tells this story to) would _not_ repeat the same thing themselves and become a genuine victim of a Serial Killer…..

I recently saw a show about serial killers. The FBI figures, on the Interstates alone, there are an estimated 200+ serial truck drives they haven't been able to track down since they change areas so quickly. They pick up their mark, kill them, and whatever else they might do. They then drop the body some where, in an other state, county, no where near where the picked the person up. That thought alone, scares 😱 me badly. These particular truckers are usually private contractors doing long hauls across state lines. Always keep your phone charged up if you are driving alone on the interstates. Have a weapon you have practiced with alot, get a conceal carry permit for your state and check states you travel in and their law concerning guns while carrying. If you get pulled over, make sure the first thing out of your mouth, is to tell the officer, you are carrying concealed. Saves you a great deal of hassle. And NEVER leave your vehicle if you do break down. Wait for the tow driver to arrive.
Not sure why but trucker stories seem even creepier than others. Lovin them! 😊
