Kathyrn always believed that Sebastian's sexual desire for her was based on love. She always thought that they were "two peas in a pod" who loved each other in their own way. She thought that even though this love was unnatural and perverse, this "love" would bond them for life as they both would run the Valmont Empire together.
However once Kathryn saw that Sebastian cared for another more than he did for himself, their dysfunctional "love" for each other was over. Even though Sebastian won the bet, she knew that he would not be really interested in getting his just benefits according to the terms of the bet. Kathryn knew that "love" was what gave her leverage in controlling and manipulating him. She knew that ended when her step-brother found real love instead. The preceding is why she sent Ronald to violently confront Sebastian.
