The dragon analogy for Anakins fear and its influence on him becoming Vader to overcome it is just brilliant imo. Stover is the best Star Wars author imo and just does a superb job w the rots novelization I think it’s even better than the film
I agree! That was a perfect thing to add to his character. While I don't consider Stover my favorite, he is on my list of favorites and one of the best. James Luceno is my favorite.
@@buntsbooks I respect it Luceno is probably my second favorite Star Wars author after stover, I think he did a brilliant job w the unifying force the Darth Plageuis novel and labyrinth of evil
@@aamirrazak3467 Darth Plageuis is actually my favorite Jame Luceno novel and my favorite Star Wars novel. I haven't read Labyrinth of Evil yet, but I plan to though. Currently, I'm reading Dark Lord: Rise of Darth Vader, so expect some more excerpt clips of that soon. I'll probably also check out his other novels as well, like the new Jedi Order series books, and Millenium Falcon.
@@buntsbooks yeah I’d recommend labyrinth of evil and unifying force (last book in the new Jedi order series). Plageuis is just a superb novel, besides rots novelization and new Jedi order: Traitor, it’s my favorite Star wars book. Lucenos prose in that book and storytelling as well as ability to weave in the lore is simply superb
(About Obi-Wan): "He is modest, centered, and always kind. He is the ultimate Jedi." That line always stayed with me because it's a nice definition of what a Jedi is. For some reason, I've always struggled to understand what the Jedi truly are. It seems so much easier to understand the Sith in terms of basic definition and purpose.
I like the term "ultimate Jedi" to describe Obi-Wan - it has a sense of finality, in the classic sense of what 'ultimate' means, and it clearly conveys that he stands for everything that the Jedi think they ought to be. The tragedy of the story is that what the Jedi think they ought to be isn't enough. The ultimate Jedi trained Anakin Skywalker, but Anakin Skywalker could never be what the Jedi thought he ought to be. That's what makes Luke's claim at the end of Return of the Jedi so potent. When he declares himself to be a Jedi Knight, like his father before him, the reverse is also true - Anakin Skywalker was a Jedi Knight, like his son after him. Not like the Master that told the slaves of Tatooine that he wasn't there to free them, but like the brother and sister that strangled the slavers with their own chains. Not like the soldiers that led an army of slaves on behalf of a system rotten to its core, but like the rebels fighting to live up to the ideals that system claimed to uphold. It's such a powerful idea that even though Darth Vader doesn't consider himself Anakin Skywalker any more, he still identifies himself as Luke's father - and so DARTH VADER becomes a Jedi Knight, like his son after him, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if the " dragon's voice " was Palpatine/Sidious reaching out to him through the Dark Side Of The Force.
As a recovering alcoholic I relate to Anakin on this one
Keep it up!!🎉
💯
Congratulations and good luck on your recovery
What do you mean?
Stay strong

We are closer to Anakin than we Think

Really appreciate you putting this up. I rip thru my audible tokens so always nice to stumble upon these
Of course! This isn't just for my own pleasure, but for all the fans of the old EU.

And 25 years later Luke had to get through all this mental excess weight to prove Obi-wan and Yoda wrong about his father.
