Bonnie and Joel I hope you see this (I know a lot of people probably say that lol🙈) but I feel so much comfort when I watch your vlogs. I have watched for years and you guys are my number 1 favorite. Your love for the Lord and your family is breathtaking to me. I can see it shine through everything you do. Weather your having a great day or a not so good one your still uplifting in your attitude. Keep up the good work guys you help encourage so many people❤️❤️
It's so scary sometimes sending my kids to school not knowing who they are being influenced by. My prayer every day is that they can remember what we teach them at home and that they keep in mind to ignore negative thoughts and actions. I know your family is full of nothing but positivity. My prayer is that their light shines so bright that they are able to spread that light to other children.
I'm about to head out to go to college, it's 2.03pm. Can't believe I finally get to watch a Bonnie Hoellein video this early. All my love from Germany!
I'm crying with you, Bonnie. It's so heartbreaking that bullying is such a prominent thing nowadays. I agree with Joel in leading by example and I know you guys are already being that example for your kids and I am sure they are being that for others at school because of you guys.
I’m with you Bonnie when it comes to wanting to teach my kids to stand up for themselves and sometimes it’s hard not to tell them to punch these bully’s. We just have to have faith that what we teach our children will make a positive impact on their lives regardless whether there are bullies or haters out there. Your children are sweet hearts, bless their hearts. ❤️
💜Aw i know how you feel Bonnie!😢 it's like we put SO much effort i to raising our kids the best way possible and then they go to school and it feels like some kids just undo all of that by saying/doing horrible things. But you have amazing children and you taught them well, they came and told you which was the right thing to do👍💜😙
The Six Silvas who cares lol.. People make such a big deal. If the kid cussed oh well. We don't know what happened so she shouldn't put it up because now everyone is gonna get nosey and ask what happened.
JudiMD there was another video when Olivia was talking about how kids were making fun of them for being on RUclips - she fell off her bike and they were laughing at her. It was in a recent vlog and Bonnie was telling them to be proud of themselves.
Huh? That is not at all what was said in this video at all. I would hesitate to imply that this is what happened in this vlog. They dealt with the bullying issue back when it happened. I didn't get the impression that what happened today was even a matter of them being bullied. Bullying was not even mentioned until Joel spoke about there not being any need for it or retaliation for telling someone to stop being inappropriate. IMO, this was a matter of either Olivia or Cody hearing/seeing something beyond their years and inappropriate.
Been a loyal sub for a year and a bit Bonnie!!! Every night at 10:30pm you upload in Australia and I stay up every single night just to watch. Just wanted to say I love what you do and it's interesting for me to see an insight into an American family, something I have never been exposed to before!!! Are you guys ever planning on coming to the land down under?? That'd be awesome! The kids would have a ball 😘😘
It's just crazy to hear little Lincoln talking!! Feels like just yesterday he was born!! Joel commenting on "Frank" his truck competing with Bonnie 😂😂😂 #priceless
It's so hard when we can't be there 24/7 with our children to be able to shelter and protect them from all of the bad and ugly in the world. All we can do is teach and give them the tools that they need to become good, honest, loving, kind and caring people. How to make good and responsible choices when we're not there and to always follow their heart and not follow others and to always do what's right. You're a great mama and you and Joel are raising wonderful and thoughtful children.
Love seeing the realness. Glad you teach your kids to do what’s right even though it can be hard sometimes. Sorry your kids had to experience such harsh things at school.
I`ve *never* commented on videos on youtube so far, but now I really want to point out what an extraordinary, loving and perfect reaction this was from you, Bonnie! I was bullied at school for 6 years (at an age from 7-13) and it destroyed me mentally so that i was diagnosed for severe chronical depression at an age of 25. I am 28 now and just coming out of a severe episode of depression I can say it's torture and most children which are targets don't dare to tell anyone, not even their parents. I wasn't able to and this is one of many reasons why I was a target for so many years. It fills my heart with a profound warmth to see you reacting so emotional, please don't you ever stop to react to a little Olivia, Cody, Boston or Lincoln coming home with tears in their eyes telling they've been bullied at school. Even if you might have the impression of overreacting, it saves the future and many scars of your child... thanks for being such amazing parents
Lil' Lincoln just warms my heart! I love that you know he's your last so you're taking full advantage of every, every minute! I look forward to having dinner each night while watching your videos and feeling like I'm a pretend part of your family. You make me laugh and and feel tender-hart'd, and just...all over good. Thank you Bonnie & Joel for sharing and putting in so much hard work to produce these videos. LoveYouLikeFamily!
As the parent of two grown children, I am so proud to say that what you teach them in the home is what they will grow and blossom into as adults. They may struggle at times, but the direction and redirection (especially in middle and high school years when you sometime think they have turned into aliens from another planet, lol) you provide will shape them into amazing adults that you will one day say to yourself " I never in my wildest dreams, imagined my kids would have turned out to be such incredible, loving, empathetic and human beings".
I think the most important part of the experience with your kids at school is to realize that they knew where to go and who to talk to. Some kids don't have a safe place to go, or don't know that they can go to some adults. Take comfort in that knowledge that your kids know and feel comfortable to talk about things that are happening at school. Keep fostering that as they grow so they continue to do that. There is so much worse that could come, but it will be okay as long as they keep comfortable talking with you guys.
I'm 11 years old I'm in 6 grade and I have kids i my school acting like 16 or 30 and its crazy and I just fell so blessed for bonnie's family and my family that we have a good home and that good parents to look after us and raise us well. I pray for the kids that go home and have to be mistreated or abused. I love the way bonnie and jole handled this because its hard going to school and hearing kids talk about things they shouldn't even know. #lifeshardbutwewillgetthroughit💙
You guys are the best! my favorite family to watch and this video is why! it feels like we struggle with the same things at the same time, and it never fails that the way you approach it and deal with it ALWAYS gives me guidance! Thank you for sharing your families good's and bad's with us!
I know exactly how you feel Bonnie my boys were bullied most of their elementary school years ....they would come home feeling sick to their stomachs everyday and not wanting to go back ....they are teenagers now and know how to deal with bullies now ....You guys are raising your kids up to be good loving and kind ...... and Joel is right the best thing to do is walk away from those situations...you guys are good parents ❤️
So sorry to hear that happened to your kiddos. I hope you encourage them to ignore the bully, but don't ignore the bullying. It's usually okay to ignore the bully because giving them a reaction will probably make the bullying worse, but ignoring the mistreatment as well makes it seems like it's okay. I know it's scary but the fact that they had the courage to tell you what happened shows that you're doing something right & they trust you. Keep your head up momma.
My dad taught me to be the bigger person... unless they threw the first hit.... then it was anybody’s guess on how the fight would end ahaha I was taught self defence and how to fight dirty if need be and it’s worked in my favour more often than not My mum disagreed how my dad taught my brothers and I, but now she’s thankful
Back at school a friend of mine was pushed, she shoved back even harder. We went to her house after school and she told the tale to her mum who said 'good girl' lol!
I love how Joel takes such good care of his and Bonnies cars. Bonnie and Joel are the type of people who will have cars that are 20 years old and still look brand new!! Keep up the good work you guys, I love your channel!!❤️❤️💕
Bonnie, you are such a good mother! I definitely look up to you. I love how you say you’ve had the best afternoon hanging out with your kids or child. Ugh!💕
this video made me cry sending thoughts and prayers on your situation and i get joel sees it different but it doesnt make him the better one u have a momma bear instinct to protect your babies in a way only a mom can feel.
Bonnie you make me smile every day I see your family you inspire me in every way you are amazing just the way you’ll are so don’t think about those haters they are dumb keep doing what your doing and live life to the fullest
It’s heartbreaking, sad, and so scary what children these days are being subjected to in their homes! Bonnie, you and Joel are truly wonderful parents. Your children are precious, and they know that their home is a sanctuary....very safe. On a lighter note, I just have to say, Boston & Lincoln....OMGoodness!!!! They’re so AWESOME!!!! I LOVE Boston’s stories!!! It is a pleasure watching your vlogs, they warm our hearts & lift our spirits, thank you!!! ❤️
Shelley Johnston He wants a paw patrol toy if I’m not wrong. He pointed at it in a vlog a while ago. Maybe he changed his mind, I guess we will find out soon 👍
My heart broke listening to what happened at school even though I don't know exactly what happened I still get it. Stories like this reminds me time and time again why I homeschool my babies. I will protect them for as long as I am living. I do agree with you Bonnie that bullying and defending one self are two different things. Our children absolutely need to know how to defend them selves incase they are being attacked. This is just the kind of world we live in. I hope your children or child is okay and I'm sure theg got plenty of love from their Momma:)
Bonnie just know whether you, Joel or your kids are having a bad day or are struggling with someone there are so many more of us that love you and are here for you!
I seriously LOOOVE you all. It makes me so happy watching your vlogs, every time. Seeing you and your family love each other so much and have such good times together makes me so excited for my own family one day. And I can only hope to have half the person Joel is to love me and to be half the mom and wife you are one day. No matter what video you all put out there, my heart connects with you every time. I just want all of you to know how much I appreciate you putting your life on the internet, I have never connected with a youtube family the way I do with you all. I love you all!!!!! Thank you so much for every thing, I don't know if you really know how much you affect others in such a positive way.
Learning how to defend yourself definitely starts in the home. Children need to know that it’s ok. Allowing children to stand up for themselves against you as a parent is a good start. Children need to know they have a voice and their feelings/opinions matter. My daughter is amazing at it. She will say in a stern voice to anyone that crosses her to “STOP IT!”. I’m quite impressed by her skills. I’m still learning as an adult how to defend myself/speak my mind. It shouldn’t be so hard.
Sorry to hear that the kids had a bit of a bummer at school. I know that they have great parents to teach them how to handle it the right way. I love your family, have a great week
The part I loved the most about you and Joel talking about the school situation is that you never once made out that the other child was bad. So often all the blame is placed on the 'bad' child when just a Joel pointed out that child has clearly heard things in their own home which they shouldn't have , and that is so so sad. It's awful that Olivia /Cody even had to hear those things but all your kiddos will be strong ,resilient and kind because of the way you raise them ❤️
Bonnie you have the best giving kids ever. It is great that they come to you and that they get that from you guys. You are giving and that is how your kids are going to be I love you to see you soon and hope you guys have a wonderful year tell everyone that I want to see them and I love you guys
Oh Bonnie I know what you mean! We try to protect our children and teach them right and then they learn these things at school and it doesn't seem fair. Ive sat and thought about this as my kids are now in high school and even contemplated on taking them out of public school. On the other hand I also want them to be able to defend theirself because as we adults know unfortunately its everywhere in the world. Just keep doing what you're doing Bonnie. Kids are alot more resilient than we think and in the end you're good raising will trump and influence.
Interesting how your conversation about life at school could have easily been a discussion on how to survive in prison!!! We are seriously considering home-schooling for this very reason. The stories that come home have me in tears some days!! Big hugs x
dang it Bonnie, you got me crying before breakfast lol. i feel like our hearts for our kids are very similar. We pretty much cry over the same things lol. its hard when your kids are exposed to stuff at such a young age. Thats when the hard lessons are learned and we can help our kids come out strong.
The world has gotten so bad that children can't be children anymore without something bad that gets said or done. It's sad. Love your sweet family. Praying for guidance for your sweet babies for these situations. ❤️
I agree with Bonnie: there's a difference between retaliation, provoking a fight and defending yourself. There's nothing wrong with defending yourself! It shows respect for yourself, not just other people, and it also shows other people that you're not just going to let others walk all over you. Also, as far as I'm concerned, asking people to stop telling you something that you don't specifically want to hear, or is too mature for you, is not disrespectful or impolite; it's setting boundaries and standing up for yourself. Sure, you can say, "please stop; I do not like it," but that is also not rude. It's communicating to other people what you do and do not like.
Boston my little boy used to like to turn off the lights to watch movies! Bonnie I absolutely love to way you and Joel make such effort to focus on each child as individuals.
Enjoy those nap/quiet times with your littles. It goes by soo fast although it doesn't feel like it during those times. Before you know it they will have soccer practice etc etc and you barely get snuggle time. Lov your vids
Oh my gosh. I can't believe how much Boston and Lincoln have grown up since I last watched! I remember when Lincoln was just born and Boston was barely talking!
You are all very kind. It is sad that other children don’t have stable environments. Honestly I’d much rather be a little naive than be so “street” smart or know about things that aren’t the best just to know them. My parents allowed me to make up my own mind as a child I was never not allowed to watched R movies etc I just naturally knew oh that’s not something I should hear or see I’ll excuse myself. I think it is good to teach children how to recognize when to just walk away.
Its also important to stand up for other people too! Bullying is not cool. No matter who its done too. Sorry you and the kids had to deal with this bonnie, but they will be stronger and make better decisions for it.

Perfectly, and beautifully said!!!

Heather D. Hm good point. I was just speculating on past vlogs. I couldn't grasp at all what they were referring to in this one.

Boston's getting so tall😊
Mr. Boston is looking like Cody these days! Loosing those baby cheeks!!!
"Lincoln can be a pill sometimes" 😂😂😂
So sorry to hear that happened to your kiddos. I hope you encourage them to ignore the bully, but don't ignore the bullying. It is so HARD to teach your children how to handle a bully properly because honestly I just want to teach my son to throat punch them lol

I was taught self defence and how to fight dirty if need be and it’s worked in my favour more often than not

Crystal xoxox unfortunately the modern American school system punishes self defence and does nothing about the bully

All three of our kids have been bullied at school I can relate.Sending giant hugs to you Bonnie and Joel.
Aww Boston is so 'old' for his years and so 'talks' to the camera! So so cute. X😍
Today is the most I've ever heard Lincoln talk and I watch everyday! Such a cutie
Sometimes I lose track of these vlogs because of life but when I come back I’m soooo surprise how much Lincoln has grown. Oh my gosh
BONNIE you inspire me to be a better mom! Seriously just know that you're a great mother and Joel is a great father!!!!!
I’m in middle school and there is so so so many inappropriate and bad things there so just get ready-love y’all so much!!!
Parenting today is so hard-- there's so much we have to think about and prepare our kids for. ❤
Thats so cute how Lincon names the colours as his siblings fav colours instead of the name of the colour! love you guys!
Interesting how your conversation about life at school could have easily been a discussion on how to survive in prison!!! We are seriously considering home-schooling for this very reason. The stories that come home have me in tears some days!! Big hugs x
You get my day going Bonnie. Love you. :)
Joel, you are the best. Your commentary when cleaning the truck had be literally LOLing!!!
Oh Bonnie, I totally understand...and "my kids" are my daycare kids but I love them as my own! It's so hard! I wanted to give you a great big hug!
dang it Bonnie, you got me crying before breakfast lol. i feel like our hearts for our kids are very similar. We pretty much cry over the same things lol. its hard when your kids are exposed to stuff at such a young age. Thats when the hard lessons are learned and we can help our kids come out strong.
love you & family, so fun to watch. sorry your kids had to go thru what they did, but this will make their character stronger than it already is. 🤗
The world has gotten so bad that children can't be children anymore without something bad that gets said or done. It's sad. Love your sweet family. Praying for guidance for your sweet babies for these situations. ❤️
LOL Joel! That was the best! Thanks for the laugh today!!
I love the picture of the temple above your fireplace!
Boston my little boy used to like to turn off the lights to watch movies! Bonnie I absolutely love to way you and Joel make such effort to focus on each child as individuals.
First thing I do once I enter the house is watch your vlogs! Bonnie you are my favorite human on RUclips and your family is the cutest
I watch you guys every morning and I think your family is so amazing!!
I’m in love with Bonnie’s nails! Also I love how your not one of those parents who are like don’t say fart! Say toot!” Love you guys!!
Enjoy those nap/quiet times with your littles. It goes by soo fast although it doesn't feel like it during those times. Before you know it they will have soccer practice etc etc and you barely get snuggle time. Lov your vids
Lincoln is growing up so fast. it s fun to watch the kids grow up
I know exactly what it is like having to deal with a bully, it breaks my heart knowing that bullying is still happening in schools.

am i the only one who clicks like then watch? i am blown away at how fast kids grow!! you have a wonderful family!!
How adorable at the start he knew Olivia and Cody's favourite colours!
We all love you and you don’t need to be worried about your kids at school and you should just pray about it
Its also important to stand up for other people too! Bullying is not cool. No matter who its done too. Sorry you and the kids had to deal with this bonnie, but they will be stronger and make better decisions for it.
