Many critics also compare this album to the Janet Jackson album ''The Velvet Rope'', about the emotional issues then the artist sing of in the lyrics of theses two albums and the themes of the album. The mixed reception was more in the public, the public was not ready of the album and the general sound of the album and the less radio friendly sound of the album, example for ''Rockstar 101'', ''G4L'' and ''Wait Your Turn''. ''Stupid in Love'' was the most radio-friendly song of the album, this ballad so close to the sound of ''Unfaithful'' and ''Rude Boy'' was the most dancefull song of the album. The public expected a sequel of ''Good Girl Gone Bad'', but this is not the case. But this album cimetted RIhanna as a icon of music when she released this album. It's ear a watchful listen before to enter in the album, because it's so dark and less commercial to ''Good Girl Gone Bad'' and ''A Girl Like Me''.
I love the way you say " te amo" jaja, btw this is the only Rihanna's record I didn't buy at the time of release and was a huge mistake D:
Did I pronounce it correctly? 😳 😅
@@popdissected4400 sí, muy bien pronunciado :)
Rude boy is still a banger today 🔥🔥🔥
For sure!!!
@@popdissected4400 100% . I'm twerking and winding as soon as the best drops 🕺🕺
Rated R is such an underrated gem.
Omg please do gagas born this way 🥺 I love your channel!!
Oooh yes! I can't say I'm a pop channel and not cover such an iconic record!
To me, this was her stand-out the album and look. I bought it immediately after seeing her at a rap concert lol!
I’d love to see Shakira’s Laundry Service on your channel, her first primarily English album and breakthrough into the English-speaking world
Can you please, please, PLEASE do a video on the band AJR? I’ve barely heard anyone talk about them and it’d be great to hear you opinion about them!
Interesting! I'll have to look them up!
Yay! A Rhianna video!!
Okay but why did you spell it like that?
@@popdissected4400 because I’m illiterate you b word
Roman reloaded era video pleasee or the pinkprint
Omg yesssssssssss
I'll keep it in mind 😃
This album is AMAZING! 🖤🖤
Yesss! 🙏
Rated R is her best album next to ANTI. Fire Bomb is a masterpiece!
Keep it out I love your voice I'm early
Thank you!
Hey pop dissected, Here are some video ideas:
1. Collab with gossipboy
2. the Music career of victoria justice
3. cardi b's music career
4. a remy ma video
5. gabbie hanna's music career
Great ideas! GossipBoy and I had discussed a collab in the past, but we never got around to it. I would love to work on him with a project! His content is stellar.
Please make video about Loud era❤
I'd love to!!
I really liked this video. Can you please make a video of Prism of Katy Perry?
For sure!
I know this is super random but i feel Cascada was all over the early 2000s yet no one talks about her except through nostalgia. Would you be interested in making a video about her? Great rihanna video btw
I hate how so many people act like ANTI is Rihanna's main career masterpiece.
Nope. Rated R was a huge defining moment, completely rule breaking.
And not a single one of her pop peers were taking those sonic risks
Just such a great record that still sounds fresh today
Yes! I've seen so many comments saying the exact same thing!
Please make a video on Poppy and her shift from pop music to heavy music
Great idea!
my fav album from her
Rated R was her best work.
Fire Bomb is a diamond.
So good!
my fav album of her scince i was a kid
Awesomeeee! 😃
Hey love the video, can you talk about gabbie Hanna and why she isn’t popping off yet
I'm familiar with her, I only know her from that one interview where she's getting mad and throwing around curse words. I do know she has a music career, but I think that would be a very interesting and different choice for sure!
181k and peaked at 4? Wow they were selling that week😭
Right?! I was shocked. I thought that would secure a #1. Competition was a lot stiffer back then. Mainly streams are boosting charts these days. If you're racking up pure sales, I would argue you still have it.
Rated R is a masterpiece! One of her best albums. Russian Roulette deserved to be a number 1 hit
Truuu!
I would love to see you make a video on Little Mix's sixth studio album, "Confetti" and if you think it will underperform. It is coming out November 6th and I would love to see you do a video on it!
Oooh, interesting! I'll look into it!
The fact that she was only 21 years old when she released R is mind blowing
True 🤯
Can you keep making Rihanna videos please
For sure I will! I'm having so much fun learning about artists I don't know that well! Rihanna is officially becoming one of my faves!
Love your content
Thank you so much!!!

😃
More Rihanna please😍
I'd love to!!!
You should talk about the massive success that LOUD and GGGB had Rihanna was inescapable during those times
I would love to! Rihanna is probably one of my new faves, and I'm excited to learn more about her career and listen to more of her music!

Aww, thank you!!! You're so kind!
@@popdissected4400 you're welcome 😇
Rated R is her best album, and one of the best albums of all time in general
What pop star at the time was releasing a ballad as a first single to any project it just wasn’t being done!!
Rated R is one of my favorite albums because it helps me get through the darkest times in my life
So happy to hear how the record has been there for you ❤️
@@popdissected4400 thank u

That’s my favorite album by her
Nice to see you
