  • Back in 2023, we were inspired by a very short segment on the Easy Allies podcast, which was a version of Kiss, Marry, Kill, but for video games. The idea is that there are three games, that are all very excellent in their own way and you need to make some very tough choices. Pick one game that you would get to keep forever , pick one game to fully complete one time only, and sadly, pick one game that gets deleted from existence. With the approval from Easy Allies to do this, let’s have some fun.
This time around, we are going to be looking at Premium Action Roguelikes with the choices being Dead Cells, Hades, and Rogue Legacy.

How would you sort out these three games. You get to keep one forever, complete one fully once and delete one from existence?

Dead Cells was my "first love" among roguelikes. I've spent at least 700 hours on it. I would only KEEP it because even though I'm relatively good at it (I've beaten 5BC) a bunch of the rarest achievements have crazy requirements.
Hades is something I'd COMPLETE (I already did) because the devs went out of their way to curate which achievements are reasonable. The achievements only require you to clear 16 heat which I find to still be relatively easy (with the right pact selection).
Rogue Legacy (2) is a game that I tried for a little bit and it just didn't click with me, something about the combat felt off. So it's a DELETE for this one.

I didnt finish 5bc until about 370 hours. It is tough.

i agree with hades, dont know about rogue legacy but if it has better movement feel than dead cells then im choosing that over dead cells

There is no wrong choice. Rogue Legacy 2 was loads of fun.

Give me Dead Cells. Its great. I dont like the isometric style of Hades. Looks fun but you can delete it. I like the idea of loss of automony in a rogue game incidentally. Overcoming that kind of chaos sounds cool.
