Spent a lot of time there camping in the 70s and 80s. No electricity on A road, no water. Used to be a tent camping spot on the point where there is parking now. Lot of good memories there during Blueberry Fest

The widened trail was an access road to the long gone amphitheater and until very recently, an access to the pump house on the shore of the lake pumping water to the whole campground. New wells now supply crystal clear water from within the Munroe Esker. The mining artifacts are displayed only, no mining took place here although gold mines are abundant in the area. I think part of the Lonesome Bog Trail is on an old corduroy access road developed years ago for forestry or mining exploration north of the park.
