This is so extravagant...the dresses, the tuxedos, the venue, the flowers, most likely the food. The DRC is among the five poorest nations in the world. In 2018, about 73% of Congolese, about 60 million people, lived on less than $1.90 a day. It is sad that there is not more equality. Only the very wealthy can have a wedding such as this.
The wedding is not in the DRC, it is in the US. The bridal party and the guests are probably resident in the States.
@@boscopereira6815 Okay, that makes me feel somewhat better. But still the inequality in this world is such a problem.
My sister had a similar wedding but we do not see ourselves as wealthy. The thing with African weddings is that it is the responsibility of the entire family and friends to fund it. By family I mean siblings, parents, uncles, aunts, cousins. The responsibility is not solely on the bride and groom to fund it.

Randomly one of your vids popped up in my feed, no clue. Needless to say I've watched a couple of them. So silly question. Seeing familiar faces dancing in more than one wedding party. Either they are the most popular folks in Houston to be in so many weddings, or they are professional dancers providing their skills and service.

@@ameliadavid7758 The things is, I have seen a lot of these videos & it has been like this in every single one I have seen so far. This "energy" is always the same. I'm beginning to think that it's cultural, meaning that this may be how one is expected to behave at weddings. Most of the female dancers have the same facial expression & seem like they don't want to be there. I saw a video last week where one of the girls was smiling throughout most of the dance. Maybe she was new. LOL The guys, on the other hand, always seem to be having a ball.
Side note: I just remembered a comment on another video saying that many of the songs used were religious. Maybe it's viewed as disrespectful to dance like you're in a nightclub to church music? LOL That's all I got.

Beautiful choreography and outfits. The guests on the other hand don’t look too amused. African wedding ceremonies are an entire day’s event. I am sure these guests are hungry after a usually long religious ceremony and the last thing they want to see is an extended entrance dance by the bridal party at the reception that would delay food service even more

Quelle célébration. Même les mariés étaient très heureux de danser. Par contre, pourquoi les invités restent-ils aussi serrés et peu amusés par ce qui se passe. Il y a plus d'efforts pour le film que la noce elle-même. Dommage aussi qu'on mette un habit aussi long et encombrant à la jeune femme. Elle était bien mais la belle robe l'empêchait de s'amuser. Mais tout était beau.
